Great news!!
Yeah, but if theaters start boycotting films because they star American enemies, pretty soon they won’t be showing ANYTHING at all.
(And I have no problem with that.)
Went to the movies with another couple that wanted to see “The Butler”. They are liberal.
We went with them, but saw “The Way Way Back” and excellent movie BTW. I do not want to see Hollywood establishment treatment on any political subject matter. This decision was made BEFORE I knew Hanoi Jane was in the movie.
Eeek.
Id like to offer my Support !!
Thank you SIr!
and Thank you as well!
You can call me prejudiced if you wish, but I refuse to go see this movie, and will never watch it. Ever. I can smell an agenda, and this movie’s agenda stinks through 20 feet of reinforced concrete.
Ah yes...Elizabethtown.Brings back memories of those wonderful months I spent at Fort Knox about 45 years ago.Well, maybe not *that* wonderful.
I wouldnt see The Butler for free..the creator Lee Daniels is a racist slime ball, Jane Fonda is a commie douche bag, and I can’t stand the sight of Oprah Winfrey..so there’s the 3 strikes and your out rule
It's not that she was a "critic of the conflict", it's that she was a treasonous communist who gave comfort to the Vietcong and encouraged them to torture decent Americans who would not pretend to be convinced by her anti-American speeches in Viet Nam. There's is an important difference.
I wouldn’t walk across the street to spit on Jane Fonda.
God bless him! (and God damn her)
Being an opponent of the conflict is not something to be shunned. How you went about your opposition is what is important. Riding an anti-aircraft gun that was used to kill Americans, among other heinous acts, is what is at the heart of the issue.
Not any more...something named 'The Mortal Instruments' knocked it from #1 last night.
Good for him! This movie is a travesty because of the traitorous Fonda. Casting her as Nancy Reagan is a slap in the face to the Reagans. And who cast Robin Williams (a fine actor) as Ike?
Too bad the producers took a great story and trashed it with casting. The poster has even been changed from the hero in a red, white, and blue silouhette, to him doing the Black Power salute. Shame. Shame. shame.
I wish more owners would refuse to show it.
I’d like to see more refusals based on the current behavior of the film’s director rather than the past behavior of one of its performers.
Good for him! God bless him.
I live about fifteen minutes from this theatre and I know Ike Boutwell and I will tell you he is one hell of a good man. He has refused to show Hanoi Jane’s movies before and I applaud him for it. The last time he refused to show one of her films I was so inspired that I quit movies all together. I am proud to say that in the last fifteen years I have rented ZERO movies. I have bought ZERO tickets to the movies. And I refuse to support anyone in Hollywood. The last time I went to Ike’s Movie theatre was to see Adam Sandler in The Waterboy that was in 1998 I haven’t missed movies at all. And I haven’t missed seeing anyone in Hollywood. I encourage everyone who reads this to do the same. Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton are always calling for economic boycotts. Now I am calling for an all out Hollywood Boycott. Unless Tom Selleck or Clint Eastwood do a new film.
