Governor Chris Christies darkest moment, at least in the eyes of some members of the Republican establishment, came on a chilly Sunday night in early November of last year, just days before the presidential election. What Christie and his team did that evening, in a series of terse e-mails and calls with the pleading Romney camp, remains murky. On Capitol Hill, insiders still treat the episode like the Zapruder film, analyzing it and trying to discern, from limited context, what exactly happened.
But what didnt happen is indisputable: Christie didnt attend Mitt Romneys rally at Shady Brook Farm in Lower Makefield, Pa., an affluent township in the Philadelphia suburbs. Christies aides insist he was busy working on Hurricane Sandy relief, but to this day many of Romneys donors and former advisers suspect the governor coolly abandoned them at the eleventh hour. They note that Trenton, New Jerseys state capital, was only a 15-minute drive away, a short hop over the Calhoun Street Bridge, and that Christie made no effort. Two days later, Romney would lose deeply purple Pennsylvania and the election.
Ever since, Christies relationship with the Republican political class has been uneasy hes been seen not as a traitor, necessarily, but as a too-clever-by-half operator who didnt do all he could for the nominee. The image of Christie happily hugging President Obama on the tarmac and being AWOL for Romney, right as he was slipping in the polls was seared into the consciousness of the conservative elite.

Gov. Chris Christi is just another Welfare Republican.
Actually, he would make 5 or 6 darlings.....
He’s a 100% loser against any dem in the general election.
Kristie Kreme and the GOPe kissed and made up, how sweet...
So? Christie is never going to get my vote.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again... God help us if he somehow gets the nomination.
For quite some time I have been voting my “friends don’t let friends vote for a Democrat” ticket. I voted for McCain (yes, I am ashamed of that), I voted for Romney (I did it, I’m glad it did it, and I would do it again) but if the the GOP decided to run this RINO fascist, I will vote libertarian or something (don’t push me I’m close to the edge)
He may get the nomination. He’ll be the media darling and the establishment favorite, and if there is a crowded field and Paul, Cruz, Rubio, Ryan etc., split the vote, he can win with 25%. He will be crushed in the general election tho as conservatives and real republicans will stay home again. i wouldn’t cross the street to shake his hand.
He is too big. He will have a heart attack before the Presidential campaign is over
If Christie croaked during the 2016 campaign, Obama would wipe away a tear a la Clintoon & sniff,
“Poor guy, I told him during our walk on the Jersey shore that he needed to lose a few pounds. Why don’t we spare this great country a lot of divisiveness & anguish and just call the election for Hillary now? She deserves it & it’s just what Governor Christie would want.”
He is the media darling because he is too fat to ever be elected, thus assuring the ascent of Hillary! to the throne.
If it’s NJFatboy vs Hillary in Nov 2016 I’m writing in Putin!
Chris who? GOP who?
Done with all of them.
Only an authentic conservative will be able to bring enough people to the polls to beat the Democratic nominee.
I’ll write in Turd Ferguson.
You are too kind’. I wouldn’t walk across the street to piss on him if he was on fire!
