The Oklahoma Story (Chris Lane Murder)

A couple of days ago, a white college baseball star from Australia, Christopher Lane, was running for exercise along a rural road in Oklahoma, my wife’s home state. He was attending college there. As he passed by three black teenagers, they decided it would be fun to kill him. They drove up behind him, shot him three times and he was dead.

They apparently laughed about it and one of them posted an online comment about their exploit — shooting an unarmed man in the back and killing him — and how cool that was.

They were quickly arrested and two are now charged with murder, the third as an accessory to murder. They will be tried as adults but because their ages are 16, 17, and 18, they cannot get the death penalty in Oklahoma.

My Internet in box is burning up with furious e-mails about this horrible crime....But, of course, as everyone who is not in the MSM knows, this is not about guns. It’s about race. It’s about the appalling level of gun violence perpetrated by black young men. The people who make the U.S. homicide rate the worst in the world are not hunters and target shooters in Idaho or Minnesota. They are totally confused, absolutely immoral black kids who have grown up with the complete absence of a sense of right and wrong.

This is a part of the breakdown of the black youth in America. It has zero to do with the Second Amendment. It is pitiful that the MSM is so cowardly that they refuse to tell the truth about gun death in the U.S.: it is a problem of race, overwhelmingly. No one dare say it, but it’s true.

This is a direct result of the welfare state that the left perpetrated on black people just as they were beginning to achieve equality under the law. And instead of learning from their mistake the leftists want to double down on stupid.

I have seen it too, and I don't think I ever knew a violent pothead. Alcohol is much more likely to induce violent behavior, as is meth and cocaine.

I think the problem is that you have thugs predisposed to violence by their upbringing and peers smoking the stuff, but the stuff did not cause that behavior.

Oklahoma may be #3, but...

• For a sentence of death to be imposed for first-degree murder, at least one or more aggravating circumstances must be found present or the aggravating factors must outweigh the mitigating circumstances:
  1. The defendant was previously convicted of a felony involving the use or threat of violence to the person.
  2. The defendant knowingly created a great risk of death to more than one person.
  3. The person committed the murder for remuneration or the promise of remuneration or employed another to commit the murder for remuneration or the promise of remuneration.
  4. The murder was especially heinous, atrocious, or cruel.
  5. The murder was committed for the purpose of avoiding or preventing a lawful arrest or prosecution.
  6. The murder was committed by a person while serving a sentence of imprisonment on conviction of a felony.
  7. The existence of a probability that the defendant would commit criminal acts of violence that would constitute a continuing threat to society.

  Otherwise, life imprisonment without parole or life imprisonment are the only sentences allowed.

Imagine if three “bored” white teens affiliated with some skin head gang had gunned down a young Black football player out for his morning run? Of course that would have spawned a racial firestorm and immediate calls for the DOJ to investigate this as a hate crime. However if three Black gang bangers gun down an innocent white kid the only thing you hear in the media is that our lax gun laws caused this.
