The Coalition to Stop Gun Violence uses real 911 recordings made by Zimmerman and his neighbors the night Zimmerman shot Trayvon, an unarmed 17-year-old black youth from South Florida.
The words, "Our laws should protect victims. Not create more. Stand up to stand your ground laws in 26 states," appear on the screen in the video, released Monday.
Zimmerman's call to a Sanford police dispatcher is heard, followed by a call from one of his female neighbors. She told the dispatcher she was afraid to go outside to see what was going on as Zimmerman, 29, and Trayvon struggled outside her home Feb. 26, 2012.
Screams are heard in the background, followed by a gunshot.
The camera pans over the young men's bodies. Next to them are the names of states that have "stand your ground" laws. They include Florida.

O’Mara should call it more than that and then release that animation that they put together for the trial that the judge refused to let them use.
It’s time to fight fire with fire.
The first lie contained in this piece of tripe is found in the very first sentence. No Limits Nigga was *not* unarmed,he was armed with a length of concrete sidewalk (a weapon he used most effectively) and was attempting to arm himself with someone else’s firearm.Unarmed? BARBARA STREISAND!
Travon is Exhibit “A” in support of Stand Your Ground. Had Zimmerman not been armed he would have been beaten to death.
I don’t understand why O’Mara doesn’t sue the creators of the PSA for defamation of Zimmerman, plus every media outlet that broadcasts it.
Yep. Trayvon was going to beat Zimmerman to death because he thought he was gay. Zimmerman stopped a Hate Crime perpetrated by a protected class member against what he thought was a a now even more protected class member.
Why isn’t the Lavender Mafia crying about that? Oh, thats right, they haven’t heard about that. Oh well.
The judge wouldn't allow it as evidence, but did allow it to be shown to the jury as part of the Zimmerman team's closing arguments.
The best way to "protect" a victim is to not let some criminal create one. Stop excusing, even glorifying criminal behavior.
There is absolutely nothing wrong with the premise of so-called "stand your ground" laws. There is no moral or legal reason to run away from danger. That empowers the people committing the crimes.
We should work against criminal behavior, not run away from it. Criminals and criminal behavior should be opposed in ways big and small at every turn. When someone sets out to commit a crime they should know that everything and everyone is against them from the start.
But what they showed them was really cut down. The animation that they initially had planned was a very detailed breakdown of the entire scene that night — and that should be released — the full and uncut version.
So they’ve created a fake video re-enactment of the Trayvon incident to put out there.
Just like they created a fake pantomime Sarah Palin on SNL.
As in the former, the low-info public will no doubt buy it.
SYG has nothing whatsoever to do with the Trayvon/Zimmerman incident. It was not used by the defense, and simply does not apply. The T/Z situation was a straight legitimate self-defense (in fear of death and unable to retreat). Such a defense is applicable in ANY (even the most rabid anti-gun) state. Of course, in the anti-gun states, the weapon of defense probably won't be a firearm....but the legal doctrine applies.
You are correct but the fact Trayvon backtracked, stalked Zimmerman down and then attacked him show that retreating wouildn't necessarily accomplish a thing and may put you in a more vulnerable position. Thus, his actions do show the necessity of SYG.
Two lies. Zimmerman’s call was to the Non Emergency Number, not 911.
Our local radio talk show host here in Florida played two recordings in succession. First, the actual neighbor/dispatcher recording, second, the same phone call excerpt as used and heard in the propaganda commercial.
On the first, the gunshot sound was normal....a somewhat muted "pop" in the background of the recorded conversation.
Second, the radio host played the same conversation excerpt as heard in the commercial. Here, instead of the normal gunshot "pop" sound, we hear an enhanced "pop" that sounds like a cannon going off. It sounds scary and deadly....ON PURPOSE!
In my opinion, O'Mara's critique of this prejudicial commercial was weak and mealy-mouthed. It drives me buggy when "names" on our side who are in a position to garner attention when given the opportunity by the media JUST DON'T PUSH BACK against the race industry!!! O'Mara had a golden opportunity to deconstruct this commercial's doctored content and failed to do so adequately.

Yah,I'm sure there are dozens of lies. But I stopped reading when I saw "unarmed".
Yes, but it take a real effort to load multiple lies into the very first sentence.
