People have stopped shopping there due to the fact that they stopped selling AR's. A few thousand spend on guns, ammo and accessories per shooter is difficult to make up selling sports bras.
The unvarnished truth.....what you will certainly not hear in the MSM when it comes to guns.
And BTW Dick's.....Schadenfreude!
You will never see another dime from me again.
Yeah, been a while since my shadow has darkened their door.
Used to go there all the time - now my in town shopping for outdoor gear is done at Gander Mountain.
I think this is why Dick’s started the ‘Field & Stream’ business, but I don’t really know if Field & Stream has AR’s.
I had a handful of gift cards for their store that I gave to my brother to buy shoes. I won’t shop there again.
The Dick store closest to me is really bad. I went there one time, and was treated very rudely, and have never gone back.
Darn, I forgot about the boycott and bought a $10 bat grip from them a couple weeks ago.
I went there for certain sports gear, but generally found their HFC dept lacking compared to stores not necessarily specializing in that merchandise.
How about due to p*ss*ng on their customer base who are mostly strong second amendment supporters?
I note that a new FIELD AND STREAM store (Cranberry Township) which just opened in Dick's backyard is doing very well. As is the Gander Mountain in my hometown and the Cabela's just a few miles west over the state line.
Same weather. Same neighborhood. Same economic conditions. But only Dick's has nosedived. Now, why could that possibly be?
Not to mention a silent segment of their customer base who quit shopping there out of disgust for their meaningless PC pandering.
The Dicks in my area seem to be much more expensive than Academy or Bass Pro shops, why spend more money?
There are Dicks all over Philadelphia. I’ll leave it at that.
Too bad. Maybe they should have thought before doing the bait and switch on shotgun shells. That was the last straw for us. Then taking the AR’s off the shelf. Buh bye.
Dick Sporting Goods is an overpriced “Fudd” store. It was a big departure from their business model to offer an AR for sale. They stabbed a lot of customers in the back when the refused to honor sales orders for the Troy carbine. I will never shop there again.
When the Newtown SHTF they threw every gun rights loving American under the bus. Their actions were tantamount to an endorsement of every BS idea the Progressive media had about AR’s and firearms in general. They might as well have announced ‘We will not soil our stores with these evil weapons of mass murder.’
F___ them.
May they reap the financial whirlwind of their betrayal.
Dicks bought out Galyans and then got rid of guns and other huting and fishing gear. They do have plenty of sports shoes and those stupid shirts with sports teams logos on them.
Correction!!!
It isn’t just because they stopped “selling ARs”!
It is because they wouldn’t deliver ARs already bought and paid for!
I believe some folks even had problems getting their money back!!
shot themselves in the foot, eh?
Dick’s made a political decision on gun sales and it turned out to be a rotten business decision. Oh well........
Good.
I won’t be back. They ruined a perfectly good chain that I liked, by acquisition (Galyan’s), and then this. Two strikes is enough for me.
