EXCLUSIVE -- GOP POLL: SEN. ALEXANDER TRAILS GENERIC 'CONSERVATIVE' BY FOUR POINTS

A new poll of Republican voters in Tennessee shows Sen. Lamar Alexander trailing a generic "conservative" challenger by four points. The poll, obtained exclusively by Breitbart News, shows a "credible conservative candidate" leading Alexander 49-45%. While a serious opponent hasn't yet emerged to challenge Alexander, the poll shows how vulnerable he is in next year's August primary. The poll, from Triton Polling, interviewed over 680 Republican voters in the Volunteer State last week. The poll has a margin of error of +/- 3.7%.

Actually WeThePeople rule, it's some voters simply vote for the familiar (R) with no thought in it. They are kept low on info by design and voters don't have the desire to seek anything out for themselves - they just want an 'R' to win and not a 'D'.

I refuse to vote for Alexander. If it means a democrat win I’m ok with that. Alexander has been helping Democrats anyway.

The problem is that East TN where Nashville resides is a strong bastion of Republican Establishment country. I’ll go on to say that in fact they are nothing but liberal Republicans over there that override conservatives throughout the state

Hallelujah.

How I would like this stuffed shirt, worthless gasbag go down. He votes for confirmation of the most radical judicial nominees, is for EPA over regulation, voted for amnesty, will not defund ObummerCare, etc, etc.

Alexander is every bit as bad as Grahamnesty, just not as obnoxious since he blends in with the woodwork more than Grahamnesty.

Mr G was one of those polled. We absolutely will not vote for Alexander in any way shape or form.

Over several issues, this guy looks like he plays for the other team. Tennessee deserves a conservative senator. Hope they get a good one.

Nashville is in Middle Tennessee and politically a mixed bag of tricks. The further east you go in Tennessee the more Conservative. The further west the more Liberal. Nashville is about half way.

Although Alexander is from Blount County which adjoins Knox County {Knoxville in east Tennessee} a lot of Conservatives are very ready to retire him and Corker.
