LONDON British police say they are examining newly received information relating to the deaths of Princess Diana and Dodi Fayed, and that officers are assessing the information's "relevance and credibility."
Scotland Yard declined to provide details about the information, only saying Saturday in a statement that the assessment will be carried out by officers from its specialist crime and operations unit.
The force stressed that it was not reopening the investigation into the 1997 deaths of Diana and Fayed, who were killed in a car crash in Paris.
Sky News reported that an unnamed source said the new information is believed to be that Diana and Fayed were killed by a member of the British military. The information was passed to police by the parents-in-law of a former soldier, the report said.

Yeah yeah we know Mommie in law and her ex-husband didn’t want her to marry and have a Muslim step-father so they assasinated him...
It’s a reasonable assumption.
Probably just an accident — but also probably a good thing for the course of history.
Look at any Interstate overpass and note the guard rails.
The guard rails are not to protect the posts, they are to guide a car away from colliding with the posts so the people inside aren't killed by the sudden stop.
If you look at the French tunnel, it still doesn't have guard rails so they didn't learn anything from the accident.
Hard to believe that ANYone cares anymore.
Be careful out there.
Irresponsible story:
They don’t treat in the slightest the question if any of the parties invovled wore a RODEO MASK.
WHAT is wrong with Brits? Sheesh...
These stories pop of every year toward the end of August, as the anniversary of her unfortunate demise approaches. The timing is suspicious.
this is all so stupid
by the time she was killed, she was divorced from charles and fighting a pr battle with the palace
for her to bed down with a muslim esp one as sleazy as dodi al fayed just proved their point that she was unfit to be a royal wife
they weren’t going to stop that marriage... i suspect they welcomed it as a pr disaster for her, and also more rationale to keep william and harry away from her
Oddly enough, I heard about the crash on the radio just as I was about to enter a different tunnel.
Was living in the UK at the time. Woke up, as always....turned on Radio 2 and went to pop the kettle on. Hubby said “someone has died” with the way the radio announcer was speaking. Very sad days in the UK.
about time...
Diana was murdered...
Unless someone convinced the driver to commit suicide, I don’t see how their deaths could have been anything other than an accident.
A drunk driver doing a hundred is just death waiting to happen.
The Kennedy assassination has also spawned dozens of books and numerous newspaper and magazine articles claiming to have 'exposed' a plot to kill John F. Kennedy in Dallas, Texas on November 22, 1963. None of it is ever validated and now, a half-century past the assassination, the number of people who care are rapidly dwindling. Most Americans either believe Kennedy was killed by Lee Harvey Oswald with his mail order rifle or by a sinister plot engineered by anyone from LBJ to Fidel Castro to the Italian Mafia or the KGB, ad infinitum.
In both cases (Diana and JFK) they are long gone and it's extremely doubtful that any 'plots' to kill them will ever be substantiated. Sometimes, things really are as they seem. That doesn't excite anyone so it is often dismissed. Still, the seemingly endless 'questions' into the death of Princess Diana are getting rather repetitive and boring. Shes gone. She died in a horrific car crash. End of story. Now, let it go.
Di Dies
You hit the nail on the head.
I agree with you mostly. Yes, Lee Harvey Oswald shot Kennedy but there sure were a lot of odd things happen.
My guess is just what you said but Oswald sure did have a lot of Communist connections.
Latest: Princess Diana is still dead
