What Obama Wants for Your Children and Grandchildren (Past Time To Fight Back!)
Heritage Foundation ^ | 8/14/2013 | Lindsay Burke

Proud parents and grandparents are sharing photos of their kids’ first day of school. And as students head back, many states are pushing back—telling the Obama Administration that its federal education plan isn’t right for their students.

Anyone who has taught in a classroom knows how different children are from school to school—even from class to class. Teachers understand that the content, methods, and evaluations they use will differ depending on the makeup of the class. A teacher might teach her 9:40 a.m. Algebra II class differently than her 1:40 p.m. Algebra II class. And she’ll make that decision based on the pace of her students and their comprehension levels.

Kids have different needs and dreams. Are they working toward Advanced Placement Calculus with the hopes of attending a selective college, or are they planning to use the math skills they acquire in high school in a technical field in the workforce shortly after graduation?

The Common Core State Standards Initiative—an effort underway to set national standards and tests for what every child in public school will learn—turns a blind eye to the unique nature of teaching and learning, and to the fact that education is a quintessentially local issue.

The Obama Administration has tried to entice states into Common Core by tying states’ acceptance of the standards to education funding and waivers.

As Sen. Marco Rubio recently cautioned in an interview with Hugh Hewitt:

…the federal government never knows when to stop. When [it] starts taking, it never gives back and, quite frankly, I don’t think we need a National School Board. I think that we have local school boards for a reason because that’s where parents can most influence the process and get good results.

But what the Obama Administration wants for American children isn’t inevitable. Thankfully, state and local leaders concerned with Common Core’s impact have begun to push back.

After putting Common Core implementation on “pause,” Indiana is now withdrawing as a governing member of Common Core’s national tests. Alabama, Oklahoma, and Georgia have now withdrawn from the national tests. Utah withdrew from one of the testing consortia last year.

There are indications that other states are growing concerned about the national standards push. An Ohio legislator has a proposal to repeal Common Core, and Florida and Arizona have voiced concerns over the cost of the endeavor.

These are good first steps. But to ensure excellence in education, states should completely hop off the national standards bandwagon. You can read the Heritage proposal for how they can get started here.

America has reached an education policy fork in the road. One path leads toward choice and customization; the other, centralization and uniformity. If student-centered learning is our goal, only the path toward choice will take us there—and that includes choice in standards and assessments.

Keep your central socialist government nose out of education! It's a local issue and not the mess you federal busybodies dream about.

Wake up Americans and accept the fact that Obama does not want "individual achievement"? His sociopathic ideology is that everyone must be equal. Instead of helping to raise students up, he demands to drag everyone down to a lower level to accomplish his goal. By attacking the school systems, he insures that the very young will become indoctrinated to the communist ideology that he lives and governs by. In the name of God, why don't more Americans wake up and realize who and what is Obama? He is murdering America and is killing our lives, our family and our economy. He's practically accomplished all his goals handed to him by his patron Satan.

Close the Federal Department of Education; it has accomplished nothing positive.
Return all responsibility for education to the states and the people.

For those willing to fight back, there are many rules, which are used to soften the fight against the gov’t education establishment.

The same gov’t establishment has (NO) rules preventing them from stealing the hearts and minds of children.

The basic conflict is between those who want Liberty and those who want Totalitarianism.

For over a century various names have been applied by the advocates of Totalitarianism to their groups such as “Progressive,” “Socialist,” and “Communist.”

All such names are based on the King-Slave Style of governance.

The last King-Slave System practiced in America was the Plantation System which ended in a horrific Civil War, and consequences that we are still recovering from today.

Currently, the King-Slave Model has been sold to America as a “Safety Net,” and eagerly embraced by the “47 % “ who pay no person homage to their King.

The 53 % are being led by Republicans who are afraid of EFFECTIVELY opposing the King.

Hence, we have a watershed position in time rapidly approaching where we, the 53 % who pay our personal Federal Income Taxes, must choose between changing the Leaders of the Republican Party, or continue to financially support these same cowardly “leaders.”

Partial Government control is Socialism.

There is partial Liberty with Socialism.

Total Government control is Communism.

There is no Liberty with Communism.

Conservatives are dedicated to conserving Liberty.

The Federal politicians who support whole or partial Government control are either Socialists or Communists.

Conservatives should not donate money or time to these Socialists or Communists.

Will you LEAD, follow, or get out of the way?

Our sorry Democrats and RINOs in Congress have chosen to follow as America continues to not oppose “The Man” in “The Big House” at 1600 Plantation Avenue, in the District of Corruption.

What say all of you?

http://www.ohiolibertycoalition.org/common-core-repeal-bill-introduced-in-ohio-house/

Ohioans who believe in local control of education will be pleased to hear that State Representative Andy Thompson introduced his Common Core repeal bill last week, HR 237.
The bill would:

Halt the implementation of the Common Core standards in Ohio.
Prohibit the state of Ohio from administering the PARRC assessments and any other assessments connected with Common Core.
Forbid the sharing of private student data with third parties who seek to profit from the data or with entities outside the state of Ohio including the federal government.with certain exceptions.
