Senate Democratic Leader Harry Reid recently made clear what conservatives have long suspected: that he and other Democrats, including the president and key officials, see ObamaCare as a stepping stone to single payer, government-controlled health care.
Reid told a television interviewer, "Don't think we didn't have a tremendous number of people who wanted single payer system."
But, he added, it didn't happen because "you know, we have to get the majority of the votes and we weren't able to do that."
A single payer system would involve the government paying for all health care costs and abolishing the private insurance market.
Reid’s comments have revived discussion of the prospect of a government-run health care system. Despite the problems it has been encountering recently, ObamaCare is only partially run by the government.
In May 2009, the president said, "I think that the idea of moving towards a single payer system could very well make sense."
As far back as 2007, Kathleen Sebelius -- who went on to become his Health and Human Services Secretary, who oversees implementation of ObamaCare -- said, "I'm all for a single payer system eventually. I think that (what) we have to do is work with what we've got until we close the gap."
What do people actually mean by single payer?
“What they really mean is putting everybody under one big government insurance program and almost always, on the left, they're talking about Medicare," says John Goodman of the National Center for Policy Analysis in Dallas.

As soon as Obamacare goes into full effect in January, all the masses are gonna be wailing. 40 hour work week? Nope, 30 hours now boys, everyone will lose from this.
I don’t think anyone realizes how bad that Obamacare is going to affect them. But it’s going to hurt.
One week waiting time to get into your doctor? Guess what? 2-4 month waiting time for EVERYBODY. I can’t wait.
January will come and go with no Obamacare. The whole shebang will collapse under its own weight. No way in hell will they be ready to roll out anything.
Real Estate industry ruined.

Health Care industry ruined.

Of course it will collapse. That is the plan. Create a super crisis and then blackmail the Republicans into paying for it or be blamed with causing an economic disaster. sound familiar? Never let a crisis go to waste, especially one you can perpetuate and blame on the opposition with the help of the press.

I’m confused by the title. Why is there a question mark at the end of the sentence, and why does the term “stepping stone” appear?
No. It’s a stepping stone to total control of every area of our lives.

there will always be a private market for health care then, doctors who became doctors to cure and preserve life will find patients who will pay
two tiers of health care coming, one for the masses who are asses and one for the elites who are more equal than others
Those with money will always have health care.
Pelosi, Reid Obama. they will always have a good Doctor around, It’s us middle class who will wait weeks to see a total incompetent or a Practicing Nurse who make guesses.
