Dear FRiends,
A FReeper sent me a short list of names this morning that he says he found on an internet site that matched up freeper names to their real names. He says he managed to get the site owner to delete it and we can thank him for that. But in the message he sent me there was also an accusation that the list was provided to a third party by John Robinson. That's bullshit. John would never do such a thing.
On a hunch, I looked up the listed names on FR's facebook page and sure enough all but two were members. Then he sent me a longer list and I recognized many of those names as also being facebook members. I've seen threads run on facebook where members outed their own FR screen names. If you have a facebook or twitter account or other social media accounts in your real names, you may want to be cautious about outing your FR screen name. There are leftists out there and sometimes even anti-freepers who could easily compile and post such lists.
Not I. And I encourage my friends not to go there or on Twitter, either.
No one listens to me, though...
Well, except you, of course. [smiles]
I want to make it easy for the spooks to find me. :o)
ah they are ever where and know everything
So much knowledge, so little wisdom...
true words true words
A very nasty lefty troll first trolled a web forum that I was a co-founder of back in 2008. That was the beginning of 4 years of harassment. He took an announcement of a social gathering we were having and edited it and posted it to the local newspaper’s forum and characterized it as a KKK meeting and tried to get people to crash our social gathering. Eventually, he figured out my real identity and started posting things about me on the same local newspaper comments and forum, correlating my real name with my posting name and even bringing my son into it as he’d gotten written up in the same paper for football and wrestling. I had to threaten to sue that newspaper before they removed those nasty and offensive posts with my personal information in them! I finally found out who the guy is by comparing notes with other people who were harassed online by him. The good thing is, I know his real name and know where he lives and his MO. To my fellow Freepers, do your best to protect your personal identities as these lefty trolls will do anything to make your life miserable.

Leathal force? Is that not quite a fatal as lethal force?
I had an inkling that O’Blama couldn’t spell.
I tried to log into my email account and could not. I know if someone tries to get into my desk top, FB has been too. Sure enough when I went to log into FB, a notice popped up that someone in another state had tried to get into it. I changed passwords and that was that. I have no idea why anyone would try to get into my computer but this is the 2nd one in about 1 1/2 years. The other time they were in Nigeria. Took me forever to get emails, etc. FB was the one who sent me a notice about that. People may complain about FB but my family and friends love it. I never have any trouble with my ipad but my desk top is another story.
Good point. That list was started before I got involved with the site. One of the first things I did after obtaining admin status was to delete it. Then I forgot about it until your post.
We sometimes find a person with an unusually fine-tuned sense of humor in the most unexpected and delightful of places.
I have no real name either. And I basically hate the whole idea of Facebook.

Passwords are of no help in securing FB.
These hackers aren’t sitting in their mother’s basement.
They are “external interests”, using your system to hide their activity.
Awwww... She’s sooo cuuuute!! And she looks sooo outraged, too.
Thank you for the pic, my friend.
Well, at first I thought it was the dog’s, but now I’m not so sure...
Unless they start posting junk under my name, I am not going to worry about it. I do not post personal info such as location, etc. Guess someone could find more info under my name search than on FB. I have pictures, recipes, etc on my page. If someone wants good recipes, then they are welcome to them. I just saved them from someone else and the pictures are from other people. I love scenic pictures, etc. There are many other ways to get info than FB. Oh, guess someone could find out what teams I support. No info is failsafe on the internet. That is a risk that everyone on it takes.
PUBLIC DISPLAYS of what used to be private matters makes no sense to me...
