Lee Daniels, director of "Lee Daniels' The Butler," can't seem to keep his charges of racism straight. I always thought that a sure sign of racism was how much rural whites love to see black people "perform." But now Daniels is claiming that he had to stock his latest film with white actors out of the fear that, unless he did, rural whites would not want to see a film starring only black people:
The new movie The Butler has a unique political feature: Portrayals of five U.S. presidents. (Robin Williams plays Dwight Eisenhower, James Marsden portrays John F. Kennedy, John Cusack plays Richard Nixon, Liev Schreiber as Lyndon B. Johnson and Alan Rickman plays Ronald Reagan).
Director Lee Daniels says that many big stars was, in part, a way to balance the films lineup of actors.
"I want people from Oklahoma, I wanted people from Nebraska, I wanted people from Idaho who wouldnt be so excited about going to see an African-American film with these African-American actors, people that understood some of these other folks, white folks that were celebrities. The films primary actors are Forest Whitaker, Oprah Winfrey, Cuba Gooding, Jr., Terrence Howard and David Oyelowo.
This, of course, is nothing more than Daniels hurling an ignorant and bigoted smear against rural whites (a club of which I am a proud to be a member). It is also anti-science. No white actors have ever been necessary to turn Will Smith, Halle Berry, or Denzel Washington films into mega-hits. And Oprah Winfrey, one of the stars of the "The Butler," isn't a billionaire today because large swaths of white America would have nothing to do with her.....

A reconstituted “kill whitey” movie..
Thatz heavy man.
Just heavy...
Huh? Disciples of Christ? WTF?
Good catch.
>> Do you think they were going to act in a movie that didnt take dozens of cheap shots at whites?
Certainly.
“Flight” was good. “The Last King of Scotland”. “Machete” was entertaining.
racist guy issues racist statements against the race he hates
how... unexpected
and yes, we won’t be seeing your movie either... regardless of your hype, it’ll still flop
i’m still waiting for the tearful drama about martin luther’s life.... starring robert downey jr
This film will not do well at the box offfice. It will however make money!!! It only cost 25 million dollars to produce, but overall attendance will not be pretty!!! Oprah, with her racist rants has hurt the fiim from the starting gate.........and rightfully so!!! She is in a panic over the failing POTUS Obama that does not bode well for the future of African Americans!!!
She now officially joins the bigot/Black racist, hustler group of the NAACP, The CBC, Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson, Barack Hussein Obama, etc. Sad.....for Oprah......sad for America!!! Most of all...sad for Americn Black folk!!! The Obama created suffering of broken families, high unemployment, lack of meaningful opportunities, continues and grows unabated in Black American communities across the entire country!!!
Damn Hollywood. This is typical.
I read “Monument Men” a few years back, and thought it was a good book, serious and very interesting.
I heard they were making a movie out of it, so I watched the trailer and nearly barfed.
Matt Damon. George Clooney. Kate Blanchett. Bob Balaban.
If that wasn’t bad enough, it looks like they took a good book and made it into a WWII version of “The Italian Job” with a focus on witty and funny dialogue. And, they show in the trailer, a short montage of an American GI with a flamethrower burning books and paintings.
Yeah. A-holes. I hate all of those pieces of crap. Seeing George Clooney wearing aviator glasses and trying to look like a military man is enough to make me barf.
When I learned the director offered Obama a cameo role, I knew what this film was all about. And sure enough, another White-guilt, woe-is-me Black film. They can never move on. There is now too much leverage to lose through forgiveness and healing. It is in Black and Liberal’s best interest to continue to re-infect the scab of racism of generations long past.
There is simply too much at stake politically and financially to let racism go. Oprah wouldn’t have made her billions, Liberals wouldn’t so easily access political power, Obama might not be president, Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton wouldn’t have anything to exploit. No, there is simply too much at stake.
The Butler had to be made to continue the extortion racket. Not a chance I will contribute my money to this.
This sounds like an excellent movie to miss.
“...What Lee Daniels sounds like to me — other than someone with bigoted misconceptions about people based solely on their skin color — is a director already making excuses for a box-office flop....”
*******************************************************************
I’m catching the smells of a MEGA-flop.
Dat Butler be a house ni**er.
Watch, this film is going to get all kinds of accolades and Oscar nominations, maybe even being proclaimed the movie of the century......
I don’t know anything about “Flight”, but the other 2 movies DID take cheap shots at whites. Did you understand the question?
“There is now too much leverage to lose through forgiveness and healing. It is in Black and Liberals best interest to continue to re-infect the scab of racism of generations long past.”
They’ve leveraged themselves into irrelevance; whites can’t stand to be anywhere near them, and are importing millions of Hispanics to replace them while enticing blacks to abort/contracept themselves into extinction. It is working, too; the 12% number only holds up with the “one drop of black blood” rule. Here in NJ our cities are becoming heavily Hispanic.
You're in trouble now! You used the H-word!
Makes total sense as to why Democrats are pushing amnesty so hard.
So then white people are all racist unless they waste their time seeing his newest racist propaganda project.
Now Oprah says sorry: Chat show queen says she regrets ever mentioning the racist handbag incident and insists it got blown up after Swiss sales assistant brands her a liar
This on top of the dismissal of the racial discrimination claim against Paula Deen is stunning. They just delight in destroying people with phony accusations — whether its neighborhood watch volunteers, or famous chefs, or a lowly shop clerks just trying to make a living.
It’s long past time to put an end to this nonsense.
From watching the trailer on IMDB, the movie is all about segregation and how badly whites treated blacks. PASS. Oprah will not get my money.
