A primary challenger to South Carolina Republican Senator Lindsey Graham said the incumbent Senator may be vulnerable in 2014 because his embrace of the Senate's immigration bill has angered South Carolinians who are against amnesty for illegal immigrants. Nancy Mace, who is the first female graduate of The Citadel, appeared on Breitbart News Sunday on Sirius XM Patriot channel 125 and said it was unfair to legal immigrants to award those whose first step was breaking the law. "Amnesty does not sell down here," Mace said. "People are very upset with it." The 35-year-old wife, mother, and small-business owner said, though, that the Senate contest will be a "David versus Goliath type of race" and acknowledged it would be a "formidable challenge" and an "uphill battle" to knock off one of Washington's most establishment Republicans. Graham, who was a part of the Senate's Gang of Eight that wrote the comprehensive immigration reform bill, has been harshly criticized from the right for his enthusiastic embrace of the bill. But Graham has a significant fundraising advantage over his opponents as an incumbent establishment Republican. Still, Mace said South Carolinians are "very frustrated" because they believe Washington lawmakers are out of touch and think they know "better than the people." For instance, Mace said the Gang of Eight in the Senate claimed the immigration bill would be deficit neutral when hardly anything in Washington is revenue neutral. "When was the last time government gave us a number that was actually accurate?" she said. Mace also acknowledged that many of the country's illegal immigrants are those that who overstayed their visas, something the Senate immigration bill would exacerbate.

She said Republicans do not need to pander to various groups with comprehensive immigration reform bills and, “overall, the biggest voting bloc is common sense, and I would like to see more of it.”
She also pointed out that Obamacare, which has turned out to be a disaster, was a “comprehensive” type of legislation like the proposed immigration reform bills—and that similarity has made South Carolinians distrust the comprehensive immigration reform measures being proposed.
I’d love to see Graham come in third. I’m hoping for a runoff. Let him spend all his money on two elections while the enthusiasm will be on our side because we don’t need money!
So many in congress are worried about the big money, so worried they have forgotten to worry about their constituents. They think money will buy them votes, and it may well do that, but eventually the anger of their constituents will overwhelm even the fraud big money can buy. We’re at that point now and they are too dumb to realize it.
I think she has better than a 50% chance. I’ll support her over linseed any day, and I’m in North Carolina.

That would include a lot of black and white native construction workers who lost their jobs when my younger brother had to shutter a contracting company which he owned in South Carolina.
Although he built a quality product at a competitive price, he couldn't play by the rules and still compete with those who hired illegals for cash under the table.

I’d like to see Graham lose convincingly, but SC voters may be thinking “electability” if they retain him through the primary. Nonetheless, I hope she takes him down.
I would love to see McCain go first. Graham...meh!
If more of the Republican establishment candidates stopped the amnesty pandering, they might actually see the totally disgusted base start showing up at the polls.
Instead, their consultant bosses tell them to pander to gain 17 Hispanic votes and forget about the 4 million conservatives who stayed home in 2008 and 2012.
If you think Graham is an establishment/Rhino type, you haven’t done your home work on this chick and you shouldn’t be so quick to support her.
Don’t let her Citadel story convince you that she is going to remain conservative if she gets the Senate seat. John McCain has a great story too.
Personally, after learning that Mace was behind the website that tried to bring down Nicki Haley during the campaign for Gov., I decided that I would never support Mace. (remember the slob blogger that claimed he had an affair with Haley?)
South Carolina ain’t Nevada, and it sure as hell isn’t New Jersey.
WHOEVER wins the Republican primary will win the general election. So-called “electability” would be a red herring in this case.
