DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. — A Florida beach safety officer has been fired over comments he is accused of making on Facebook regarding Trayvon Martin.
Todd Snipes was fired Friday for unprofessional conduct. County officials say Snipes showed “horrible judgment made worse during a racially charged atmosphere.”

Right-o. This was more a case of IQ than anything.
Nothing valuable or good comes from Facebook that isn’t outweighed by the bad and useless.
I read something where Facebook is being cited in a disproportionally large number of divorce and legal cases.

We need to take back the dialogue and staying silent isn’t going to get the job done. By all real accounts Trayvon was a thug. Members of that community may not like reading or hearing such comments, but lashing out at the person saying it isn’t going to fix their culture’s failures. Calling every person who speaks up and speaks out against those behaviors and attitudes that are failing a community isn’t a racist or a bigot.
Trayvon was a thug and the community let a good child slip through to the dark side. The longer we let the community wallow in denial of how they continue to fail their young people...the more we lose as a culture. Bad habits, bad culture should evolve to something better. Oddly, in America, it doesn’t. It doesn’t because we CAN’T talk about it, challenge it, and expose its’ failure to the light of day.
AMEN and AMEN! Seems like it brings out the stupidity in people like the guy in Miami that killed his wife and then posted her picture on FaceBook. And he is only one of many and probably not even the worse.
He needs to find out if the Constitution allows people to be fired for using the term 'thug'... I'd like to know, Lenny Bruce would like to know. Jon Stewart who uses the 'eff' term would like to know...
You are correct in saying we need to take back the dialogue, but that is not going to happen. We have transitioned from the Land of the Free and Home of the Brave to the land of the freebie and home of the gimme in less than one generation.
In America today we must be tolerant of all things lest one, the truth.

You folks should have heard the Chicago police scanner last night. It is sickening and embarrassing we allow these criminals to do what they have been doing. Almost all of the calls are for “black male with gun” or a knife or for aggravated assault. It is a war zone.
I put all of this on Obama’s shoulders. He had the opportunity of a lifetime to heal racial divides and stop a lot of this racism garbage. Instead he turned the clock back to toe 1950’s. That is evil. Very very evil.
I lost a few friends over posting pro-Second Amendment pictures, etc on FB earlier this year, but I didn’t care. People need to realize that regular folks that they know believe these things and that we don’t cater to the politically correct.
As long as they kill each other. When they get tired of it, they will start behaving as decent human beings toward each other and expel by one way or another, those who refuse to abide by civil rules.
Don’t forget to save some sympathy for the teenager who was brutally beaten by three older teens on a school bus.

Daytona Beach is notorious as one of the biggest Pedophile trolling grounds in America. Instead of firing a beach patrol for making a factual statement regarding a Miami Ghetto Thug who got capped when he assaulted a Hispanic man....maybe DB should concentrate more on getting rid of the Pedophiles who use DB as their candy shop
Perhaps the guy can sue his previous employer for violating his civil rights.
