No 16 year old girl has control of a grown man. Ever.

A very true observation. When we read of the abduction of young women I refer to the Elizabeth Smart case. Totally and completely innocent, yet seen in the company of the rotten pervert and did not scream and yell.

We will await the official report and the professional people who will tell us more. The girl, in my opinion is innocent and a victim.

God grant her strength.

dearest CaptainK...

you are right about a grown man, but you assume all men past the age of 21 are really “grown men”.

If a family friend just killed my mother and brother, I’m going to do what he says in order to stay alive.

Im fine here typing my opinion. And this case was not a summary execution. You might want to look up a definition of that. If the girl was there, the shot ended the immediate danger she faced from someone who killed half her family.
I am indeed TEA, and you are the one who needs to wake up.

There is some d@mned serious crap in this country to be highly upset about. But it’s exceedingly childish to act like every legitimate act the FBI does is wrong. They did a good job here, and slapping them on the back is the right thing to do when they act right.

Punish the bad, reward the good. Its a basic concept. Being pissed off here makes as much sense as being angry at a road crew directing traffic. Shooting kidnappers to save the victim is a legitimate thing.

Ill go you one further. In 1942 Munich, if a lunatic murderer kidnapped a 16 year old girl, id be pleased if an available SS sniper nailed him.

I believe it wasn’t till 1985 or so that it became against the law in the US to shoot a fleeing suspect involved in the commission of a felony.

The notion this man could not be dropped on the spot for fleeing is itself an outgrowth of liberalism.

They are “adult” at 18, there is supposed to a father in the house to kick their butts so they ACT like adults.

Unfortunately there isn’t such a person around too often

On one point we can agree: none of us has the necessary facts to make an informed judgment. And given the supine, slavish lib media and the Feds’ propensity to stall, cover up, spin, & lie, we may never have them.

Don't like Federal summary execution by sniper, even for dirtbags.

Agreed. We protect the rights of even dirtbags, because once you make exceptions, every case becomes exceptional.

You are so right, and it is why we can express skepticism, but not form an opinion until we have more information. But, considering how managed our info resources are these days, how can we ever really know?

However it works out, I hope this girl is innocent of any wrongdoing in the death of her mother and little brother. I pray that she recovers from this horrible life event.

I am uncomfortable about this DiMaggio guy being executed without a trial. (Not that “we, the people”, can afford the expensive trials, incarcerations, endless reviews & appeals, years on death row, etc.)

The older I get, the less I know, and the days of youthful certainty are now just “water-colored memories of the way we were”. I miss those days, when we thought we were a better country than we seem to be.

When I get like that, I carefully type all my very cynical thoughts, and then hit the back arrow, and refuse to post them.

It's not so much that you or I are “wrong” in our initial assessment, as it is that we “might be wrong”.

I prefer to gather factual information before I publically post an “opinion” on a situation like this.

You should attempt to try that tactic/attitude.
Because this situation, like all others, is not about you, your personal rough patch, or your cynicism.

“Even murdering perverts rate due process,”

His due process begins when the girl is safe. He chose his evil course and paid with his life. Us risking her any further is utterly irresponsible. No court in American history has ruled that hostages taken by a murderer must roll the dice, and forgo an easily affected rescue, so their attacker can have a day in court.

Its disgusting to risk that girls life in order to issue some verbal challenge, and then hopefully prevail if he resists. Nobody from George Washington on down has ever advocated that. That’s a fantasy standard that has never been used in this nations history.

Amazing. As usual on FR, somebody comes out defending the creep.

For one thing, nothing gives him the right to act this way. And for another, he was a family friend and she had actually told other people that she didn’t want to be around him because he kept saying creepy things to her. But because he was friends with other family members, they ignored this.

ROTFLMAO!

I guess I do deserve that very special blessing!
Thank you!

But you should still consider thinking about considerating my unasked for “advice”.

We live in ugly times, and it gets even seriously uglier, if people go off half cocked, absent facts.

Exactly! If it was one of my daughters I’d want the perp taken out with extreme prejudice just to be sure he didn’t take her with him. THIS of all things is what we want our agencies to be ready for.
