Twin $50,000 donations were made to Andrew Cuomos campaign by two companies that have the same address as Extell Financial Services, which is part of Extell Development Co. one of five developers to receive hefty tax relief thanks to a bill signed by the governor two days after the contributions.
A top development company donated $100,000 to Gov. Cuomo just days before he signed a bill that quietly showered the firm with lucrative tax breaks.
Two corporations tied to Extell Development each contributed $50,000 to Cuomos campaign, which recorded the checks on Jan. 28 the same day the Assembly passed a housing bill that contained tax breaks for five developers, including Extell, records show.
Cuomo signed the legislation two days later.
The twin $50,000 donations were made by Elco Master LLC and 134 W 58 LLC. Each listed the same Louisville, Ky., address of Extell Financial Services, which is part of Extell Development. It was the first time either company contributed to Cuomo, state records show.
And less than three weeks after the bill became law, Extell President Gary Barnett donated $100,000 to a state Democratic Party account that Cuomo was tapping to finance ads pushing his agenda. Records dating to 1999 show it was the only time he gave to the state party.
The Daily News first disclosed the tax breaks for the five developers in June. At the time, the sponsors couldnt say who picked the projects for special treatment.

This simply proves the system works!
Isn't this campaign-contribution fraud?
Only if a Republican is involved.
This was an “investment” into their future.
Legalized bribery.

Unexpected?????
Right. My bad. Pretty racist of me to ask the question.
FMCDH(BITS) Signed...nothingnew
See “Plunket of Tammany Hall” on ‘Good Graft’(for demoncrats) and ‘Bad Graft’ (for everyone else).
Such things have been going on for eons. A new company tells the city council they’ll move in and bring jobs and the council members fall all over themselves to give them utility and tax breaks. The company then supports the members in their re-election.
We live in a one party authoritarian country now. Democrats can do whatever they want.
What a life for
Andrew Cuomo, born with a silver spoon, family always at the public trough. Never had to make a resume for a job, never got downsized, screwed up wherever he was placed and gets voted in by the illiterate voters of NY.
Cuomo operates as a mafioso.
I have been told firsthand that he threatens to “investigate” NYC financial firms (on trumped up incidental items) unless they pay a fine.
They can choose.... pay the fine OR the DA opens an investigation. The investigation is a sham and will find no laws broken, but meanwhile your company name hits the news and gets plastered all over Google next to the words INVESTIGATION.
Thus you lose clients and prospective clients cannot do business with you since their own organizations would ask “Why the hell do you want to do business with XYZ Corp?? It’s under investigation by the DA!”
Thanks Hojczyk.
It’s more than $300,000 in donations.
Gov. Cuomo’s long-time city developer donor got more generous when it stood to get $35 million in tax breaks
