Facebook founder Mark Zuckerbergs lobbying outfit has launched a $350,000 ad buy to defend House Budget Committee chairman Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI) amid his push for comprehensive immigration reform. Politico reports that Zuckerbergs FWD.us-run group, Americans for a Conservative Direction, has bought up $350,000 worth of television ad airtime targeted at Ryans district.
"The spot from the FWD.us affiliate begins with a picture of Ryan and says, Amnesty? Not a chance, and goes on to say the House budget chairman is looking at a conservative solution to the issue of immigration, Politico wrote on Thursday. It then focuses on more muscular pieces of the reform effort such as increased border security, E-verify and items like back taxes charged to illegal immigrants already in the country. The buy runs from Friday through Sept. 3 on cable and broadcast networks.

I dont understand why giving law breakers citizenship is the right thing to do. It just baffles me.
More on Paul Ryan and amnesty
FReep Mail me if you want on, or off, this Wisconsin interest ping list.
I wonder how someone writes a check for “30 pieces of silver”?
Ryan evidently had his price.
Ryan absolutely has to be defeated in 2014. Vote against him in the primary, then vote for the Democrat if he survives the primary.
... and yet supposedly conservatives will flock to FB today and post away.
Bigger issue to be cognizant of here is how the gop wing of the uniparty is drawing more of its funding from select corporate interests. Whether your average conservative contributes to the rnc is irrelevant: they’ll still get the money.
That’s entirely because Zuckerbergs local amazon packaging plants need LOTS and LOTS of low-skilled workers.
Claiming libertarianism allows him to say government should just leave him alone and let him get who he wants to work for him.
He ignores that the US is a nation, that there are borders, and that there is such a thing as a citizen.
What’s the connection between Zucky and Amazon?
Is he a big holder of Amazon stock?
There are a lot of leftists around who are single-issue "libertarians." These are people who adopt the hardline, leftwing statist attitude when it comes to laws that inconvenience others. But they're suddenly "libertarian" defenders of freedom when they want to smoke dope or get cheap third world immigrant labor.
It's just damn depressing.
He’s a prostitute. I wonder how much an hour cost Zuckerberg.
“... and yet supposedly conservatives will flock to FB today and post away.”
As someone pointed out here a day or two ago - why are FReepers doing the fed surveillance lackeys work for them? At least send your political jokes, opinions etc. through your email instead of making it easy to add your name to the oblamer enemies list by using FB.
Every click also enriches uber liberale zuckerburg.
There is none. I confused him with Bezos and WaPo. Sorry. Apparently, my brain keeps getting older day by day. Bezos is libertarian, so that is probably the source of the brain cramp.
and foreign lawbreakers at that
“... and yet supposedly conservatives will flock to FB today and post away.”
Sad, but true - especially because there are centralized alternatives available that better protect your privacy.
Me, I’m gathering a group of fellow Linux enthusiasts to set up an instance of Friendica. It’s an alternative social network, but it has plugins that interact with Facebook and Twitter so you don’t have to completely leave behind everybody else who won’t switch.
If we can’t even get people to try something like that, we’re in trouble.
“Sad, but true - especially because there are centralized alternatives available that better protect your privacy.”
Ah, that’s DE-centralized, not centralized.
So Zuckerburg is an expert on immigration. And “he” spent $350,000. Sure he did. Right after FB stock mysteriously went back up to the original offering price.
WHAT?
Anyone else catch this piece of ULTIMATE cognitive dissonance/neurolinguistic programmic/screaming hypocrisy/blatant political manipulation?
