An interesting thing about tumble weeds is there were none in the old West. They are actually called Russian Thistle and were brought over accidentally by the German immigrants of the 1890s. The seeds were mixed in with their wheat.
I lived in Western Kansas, (Dodge City) back in the 80s and the tumble weeds can at times be a real problem. I can recall driving down to Liberal and so many tumble weeds were blowing across the road that one cracked my headlight and several others dented the fins in my radiator.

The rain has been good Kathy. I can not recall the last time my whole county was under a flash flood warning but it was last night and this morning. The critters still need fed so out we went. The last scale check today I found my truck packing about 2 thousand extra pounds of
Muddy Road. Hope all is well under the north star.

I had rather listen to Home on the Range. I have Pandora set to western cowboy music and am listening to it now. I love Blue Shadows on the Trail, Yellow Rose of Texas, etc. I prefer the pre-1930 melody of "Home on the Range," but this abbreviated version is the only recording of it that I could find on Youtube. I don't have "Blue Shadows on the Trail," so how about "Blue Shadows"?

I recall a Dennis the Menace cartoon in which Dennis, dressed in his cowboy hat and with cap guns strapped around his waist, was sitting on Santa Claus’ lap, telling him that he wanted a tumble weed for Christmas.

Good evening, Kathy!
*HUGS*
I was at my sister's this evening for dinner and, as a result, am late this evening.
I'll have to pack it in very soon - the usual early call tomorrow.
Western Songs - bring back fond memories of my youth.
A better time, sad to say!
