A lot of great songs here! Patsy Montana was the first female country singer with a national No. 1 hit song in 1936(?). Here’s Patsy and LeAnn Rimes’ I Want To Be A Cowboy’s Sweetheart:

I think "Cool Water" by Sons of the Pioneers is the ultimate classic. I like the 1964 version of "Cool Water." This is how the refrain goes:
Democrats are hacks,
They will always show their backs.
They're too chicken to attack,
And they'll never counteract Goldwater. Man, can't you see, since '33,
This tax-and-spending spree's
Been killing off both me and you.

Cool Water - Hank Williams (I prefer Hank's simple version to the older Sons of the Pioneers recording). Earworm alert! This one will stay in your head for days.
To: Publius
Love the themes, Publius...thanks!

Cool Clear Water Poor Dan. He's sure had his work cut out. Seems he finally got his rider to some cool water to save him from death from dehydration. Now, he has to rescue him and his herd from the Dust Bowl.
