I guess they don’t teach U.S. geography in Indonesian schools. Yes, I know he went to HS in Hawaii, I guess they don’t teach geography there either.
I don’t mind that someone with aPhD wants to be called “Doctor” - it is a title they earned, but I do feel misled that she is not a medical doctor.
I keep telling my children that when I grow up I am going to get PhD in Physics and I am going to make them call me DOCTOR daddy.
Maybe in Indonesia, the Muslim schools teach about the Gulf of Atlantica.

Barb Boxer said something similar when a General she was questioning, at a hearing, addressed her as Mam. She informed him she is a Senator and must be addressed as such.
That's the irony. Obama has gotten through life by pretending he's black. He must have learned very young in life that he didn't do very well when judged by normal standards of excellence. So he just kept checking that box "African American".
Obama's an idiot and a bully. He won because of racism. Whites who are racist have to compensate so they show "tolerance" by deferring to him. One reason Romney lost is his racism (JMHO). After that first debate he backed off rather that be as tough on Obama as he was on Gingrich and the others.
Summary....my contention is that it's racist to say that nothing is Obama's fault and that he's so intelligent. What could be more racist than to not hold Obama to the same standard as past presidents?

Thank Goodness nobama doesn’t demand to be addressed as”professor” because of the brief stint at U of C as some sort of parttime lecturor. As to others being called “doctor”, it depends on the setting as to whether or not they are being pretentious. Getting a PhD does take considerable effort.

Medical doctorates came well after PhDs were around -hundreds of years after. The profession of medicine came out of the trade of being a barber who were involved with minor surgical procedures. In the UK, surgeons ae still differentiated from ordinary physicians by the title Mr. or Ms., which is considered a higher title.
