n a rare diplomatic snub, President Obama is canceling plans to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow next month.
The decision reflects both U.S. anger over Russia's harboring of National Security Agency leaker Edward Snowden and growing frustration within the Obama administration over what it sees as Moscow's stubbornness on other key issues, including missile defense and human rights.
Obama will still attend the Group of 20 economic summit in St. Petersburg, Russia, but a top White House official said the president had no plans to hold one-on-one talks with Putin while there. Instead of visiting Putin in Moscow, the president will add a stop in Sweden to his early September travel itinerary.

An open mic confession said that after the election he would be more flexible to do things.... I think this is one of them, he doesn´t have to face the music or pay the fiddler. Putin has him in a corner, and has the trump cards. Al Queda has them running for cover and he knows that the house of cards is falling.
Carney will probably try and sell this as a cost cutting measure.
If Obama has his way, he will do a Jimmy Carter, and boycott the upcoming Winter Olympic Games in Sochi.

hmmm, no place to comment at the article link nor the orginal AP link. I think AP is tightening the circle of wagons around Obama.
Obama looks like a big cry baby whiner.
Some sort of thin film would’ve been on his hands, rubbed off entirely on Snowden. It probably would’ve had something to slowly... get rid of him.

Putin will only stress that Russia treats asylum in the same way that the USA does. Neither country has EVER given an asylum grantee up.
