RUSH: There is a somewhat shocking report that I came across today at a website run by Doug Ross. It's called the Conservative Report. Doug Ross maintains here that Valerie Jarrett gave the orders to stand down in Benghazi. Valerie Jarrett, who constitutionally is not in the chain of command and cannot do that. And that's why this, if true, is a bombshell. Valerie Jarrett nixed the raid on bin Laden three separate times, remember, and the adults had to come in and basically act on the intel that they had as to where bin Laden was. It was Valerie Jarrett who put off three separate times an attack to either capture or kill bin Laden.
It was Panetta and Hillary and some others, apparently, who just finally overruled her and started the operation. They pulled Obama off the golf course for the photo op-ed, after the event had already begun. But Doug Ross is saying here: "Confidential sources close to Conservative Report have confirmed that Valerie Jarrett was the key decision-maker for the administration, the night of the Benghazi terrorist attack on 9/11/2012. The chronology of the evening of 9/11 are as follows:
"At approximately 5 PM Washington time, reports came in through secure-channels that Special Mission Benghazi was under attack. Secretary of Defense, Leon Panetta and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, General Martin Dempsey summoned the President, and briefed him on the crisis, face to face." And remember, this is the meeting where Obama is reported to have said to both -- well, actually all three, Panetta, Martin Dempsey, the chairman of the Joint Chiefs, and Hillary. "You guys do what you have to do," and he vanishes. This is the best intel that we've got. And the story for the longest time, "Where was Obama?" Because he was off the grid for the next seven hours. Nobody knew where he was. And, remember, throughout all of this, we're all asking, "Who issued the order to stand down?" Because that can only come from the top.
I don't know how many times that I made the statement on this program, "The secretary of defense cannot order people to stand down. The secretary of defense cannot order, on the other hand, forces from, say, Italy to enter the theater and engage. That has to come via the chain of command. That has to come from the top, and the top in this case is Obama, not an aide." So if this is true, this really, really is a bombshell.
He was probably doing drugs. Smoking weed or doing coke, and freaked when he heard the screams and desperate pleas for help. Unable to deal, he withdrew..

Exactly. I don’t think “sleeping” is plausible at all. He needs to be held accountable? By who?
Was he held accountable when he closed the car dealerships? When he buzzed Manhattan with Air Force One? When drug lords killed with our weapons?
Accountable for election fraud?
Will he be held accountable for the drones? The snooping? Political targeting?
The pattern was set from the very beginning.

Rush’s “Constitutional authority” comment is either an example of Rush thoughtlessly mailing it in, or it is some kind of insider tweak. Is Rush hinting at a paper or e- trail?
If the chain of command takes some aide’s word for it, what’s the Constitutional problem? Aren’t the chain of command details between the President and the DoD left up to the WH itself?

OK. Let’s say Jarrett told Panetta and Dempsey that no assistance was to be given. Pretty easy to determine. Bring Panetta and Dempsey in and put them under oath and ask them.
This is easy to cover with an agreed upon lie by Obama and Jarrett UNLESS they can show Obama being someplace else.
It’s also too easy. Obama could just say he never told her that and throw her under the bus.
Why did Hillary and Obama use US taxpayer funded personnel, equipment and facilities to overthrow the government of Libya?

As Far as the A-10 in Tripoli, the same will hold that it was military commanders that order the stand down. Again, Obama not accountable because he was now requested to give the order.
Finally, the rumor about Jarrett giving the order is not new. Also, Jarrett holding up the Bil Laden raid is well known and documented. The only accomplishment of Hillary as SoS is trapping her boss conducting the raid.

I guess it's as good as most MSM stories, but since this is supposedly a "phony scandal" against a beloved (by the MSM) democrat president, it won't help much if they stay anonymous.

Military communication is not by carrier pigeon anymore. An order for action by Zippy would have taken seconds to get to Libya or to the theater of operations.
This is the first time I’ve heard that an AC-130 was already in Libya. I’ve previously understood that the nearest air support was in Sicily or elsewhere in Europe. But it makes sense that it was already in Libya:
Navy Seal Tyrone Woods was a highly trained soldier. He would not laser paint a target unless he was highly certain that air support was nearby or on its way. To paint a target is to risk your own life.
He must have thought that air support was present or on its way. For Tyronne Woods to think this, he must have known that air support was present in Libya. And this air support would have to have the ability to respond to a laser-painted target. The AC-130 has this ability, and the article says that an AC-130 was present at the Tripoli airport at the time.
So,
Since the AC-130 is a large, slow airplane. It is unlikely that it was there without the permission of the Libyan government. Since this equipment was already on Libyan soil, why is Cross-Border authorization even relevant?
My understanding is that the local commanding officer had standing orders to use all available resources to perform a rescue, if needed. If the AC-130 is already on Libyan soil, the local commander already had the authorization to use it.
So, to my understanding, the real issue is, who ACTIVELY gave an order to override existing standing orders to perform a rescue?
If Navy Seal Tyronne Woods laser-painted a target, he must have left the annex to attempt a rescue BEFORE he had knowledge that the override order was given. WHEN was the order to stand down given?

Maybe the REAL thing they are trying to hide is that Obama did go to bed and it was really Valerie Jarrett calling the shots.That would make Obama actually look like a puppet who is allowed to take outrageous vacations and play golf all the time, while an unelected person is making all the decisions in Obama's name, without Obama's involvement or participation.
THAT would make people step back and ask why Obama is even there, if others are doing all the work.
This wouldn't be a case of an "executive" President (like Reagan was reported to be) who actively lays out strategic parameters and let's his subordinates work out the actual details. This would be a case of a completely disengaged President who is not participating in the daily rigors of the job.

So you say Obama ordered the stand-down, and I say that Obama was disengaged and Valerie Jarrett ordered the stand-down, even though she is not in the chain-of-command. The end result is the same, the order to stand down.If Obama left it to Jarrett and then walked away, it would be extreme deriliction of duty. Obama is the President, not Jarrett. Obama convinced 50 million people to vote for him just weeks after this happened, not Jarrett.
If Obama was found to have lied to the American people in order to win the election, and then cover it up after he won, and if the MSM and the people behave as they have in the past (Nixon covering up the break-in), then Obama SHOULD be forced from office. Americans don't like blatent stealing and cheating from their leaders.
And especially if it was the election that the People feel was won on false pretenses, not stolen votes.

Still, my point is this: If Obama did not give any order - stand-down or go - because he wasn't there and it was Jarrett giving the order, would Panetta accept that as legal chain-of-command? Would the Generals?I think that's our disagreement. You are saying that Obama did give the order, because he must have due to the chain-of-commang standing down. I am saying that a differnt chain-of-command was accepted, with Jarrett, not an absent Obama, calling the shots.

Got it. Default inaction.It concludes...I would have hoped to see people try harder to get Obama into the game. I can't beleve that a "Do Not Disturb" sign hanging from Obama's door was enough to stop the most powerful military in the world.
I'm sure that sent a very clear message to our enemies about how America will react to aggessions. Just do it after 9:00PM ET on a weeknight.

It's the same thing: Panetta took unconstitutional orders from Jarrett, not Obama. He should have walked right past her and knocked on Obama's door himself.
I still wonder if Obama was absent and others (Jarrett?) gave "orders" that were followed in Obama's name?
