Last year my dad was diagnosed with fairly advanced prostate cancer, by accident. He had been seeing a doctor every 3 months and getting PSA ‘tested’ for years.
You ‘hit’ it right and finally, after all these years. it is said when appropriate.
Wow. Sorry to hear it. Best friends are very hard to come by. Prayers with you and his family.
I was never told anything about the circulation in my legs, I just developed trouble when I walked very far. My leg just didn’t want to keep going. I finally went back to my cardiologist, and he put several stents in the leg.
I’m not much of an exercise person, though. If I have to do a lot of walking, I have to stop once in a while and rock back and forth on my toes to get the circulation flowing.
BTW—the only medicine I take is one aspirin a day. I think that’s a good thing for lot of people my age to do.
Yes, but I think G.W. in part works out so he can eat what he likes.
And Rush Limbaugh.
I ask because my brother has been complaining about his legs for years and he’s had many tests and they can’t find anything. And Friday he is scheduled for another procedure and the doc is confident he’ll find the cause. Years ago, he had a 3-way bypass.
Aspirin good; aspirin bad. They can’t make-up their minds:

I’ve only ever used aspirin since 3yrs old. At 63, I’m doing fine.
How would you know that? Besides, that’s more a women’s thing.
The DUmmies are spewing the typical assortment of vile sewage over this I presume?
Aspirin should not be taken regularly except under doctor supervision. If you do take aspirin daily, it should be low dose/baby aspirin. However, aspirin is not for everyone. I was told after my cardiac arrest to take low dose aspirin. Tried it. It made me violently ill. No more aspirin.
Only a small percentage of people have the wet form of AMD, which is a disease of the older adult - not children or young adults. Asprin is still a good idea for most of us, but those with microvascular disease need to be cautious with asprin.
Tests don’t mean you can’t have a problem in the future.
In 1990, when I was 44 years old, I had open heart surgery to replace a blown Mitral valve. The doctors found my arteries to be as clean as a new born baby’s.
Then in 2006 I started having chest pains, and they found a blocked heart artery so a stent was installed. The rest of my arteries were again, as clean as a new born baby’s.
That is, till I get the nest chest pains. I am of the age most of my ancestors died of “Cronic Indigestion”, which mimics a heart attack, so the wrong medication was prescribed.
The doctor treated me for indigestion for a few weeks before they found it was really a blocked artery.
My best friend just keeled over and died on the golf course...The doctor missed it.
That is why they call it a practice
Sorry to read of your loss. Same thing happened with my sister @11 years ago. Unless you already have a history, I don’t think docs check blockage until you achieve a certain age. With a POTUS, I’m sure that’s tested, but blockage can occur after a few years. I’m glad they caught “W” issues early.
LMAO
We used to say "us engineers pay warranty on our mistakes and doctors bury theirs"
