Positively eye popping article. We are watching this nation commit suicide.
what’s the over / under I get droned by Thursday ?
I am beginning to worry about your safety.I have been reading all your comments and they are alarming to say the least.
I'm like you. I find it unwatchable. I turn it off when it comes on.
I'd bet there is huge pressure from "up above" to be more "fair and balanced". I don't need to listen to Leftists lie land spout phony "facts" and drown out honest information from people I want to hear. I'm outta there!
The party will not survive if any sort of Amnesty passes the House or if Obamacare is funded and the debt ceiling is raised by any House action including the trick of “discharge petition”. Millions will leave. My guess is 7 to 12 million.
Probably by then. They are flying over my house right now,LOL!!
He’s safe he drinks a lot. Forgets half of what he posted.
nuthin but luv
notice the new tagger
My grandmother lived in Hamden all her life. They have those amazing Christmas decorations still?
Nonsense. First, I suggest you go back to the link and read the entire press release from the Bureau of the Census. Trying to dismiss factual data sounds more like the way a liberal prefers to discuss issues. The press release puts the data projections in context. Population projections are based on data in much the same way as actuaries develop their projections. The data from the full census every ten years plus the annual community survey data have provided some very accurate projections over the years unlike those who asscribe global warming primarily to human beings.
Since this country started having European immigration in the 1600s, the expansion has happened with both native-born and immigrant residents. This census report would have us believe that immigration was a minor factor before 1850!
What nonsense. The statement, This scenario would mark the first time that natural increase was not the leading cause of population increase since at least 1850, when the census began collecting information about residents' country of birth indicates clearly that the 1850 date is used because that is when the census bureau started collecting information about a residents' country of birth. It never said it was a minor factor before that date.
What we do know is that it has never been the case since 1850 that immigration exceeded natural increase (births minus deaths) until the present day. If it happens between 2027 and 2038 as projected based on existing data and immigration policies, then it would be a huge occurrence. And if the McRubio-Schumer bill or anything like it passes, this will happen much sooner since the bill will bring in 33 million new permanent immigrants over the next ten years, which is more than the past 40 years combined. And add to that a doubling of the guest worker program that will double the 700,000 temporary work visas issued annually now.
Come on! It doesn't pass the smell test. I spend a lot of time on genealogy and family history research, and know that America has always had a large portion of its population growth because of people coming here to settle.
In my post #49 I provided a link to an article I wrote recently on the immigration issue. Whether you are aware of it or not, we have experienced over the past 40 years one of the greatest mass migrations in human history. We now have 40 million foreign-born in this country (a conservative figure). In 1970 one out of 21 was foreign born; today it is one in 8, the highest it has been in 90 years! And in less than a decade it will be one in 7, the highest in our history. The last two decades have been the highest two in our history in terms of numbers. Something very, very significant has been happening and most Americans are simply unaware of it.
I spend a lot of time on genealogy and family history research, and know that America has always had a large portion of its population growth because of people coming here to settle.
I have been working on this issue for the last 7 years. The immigration of the past is very different from what is happening today. As a result of the immigration act of 1965, the vast majority of our immigrants now come from the Third World. 87% of the legal immigrants are minorities as classified by the USG. Our immigration polices are bringing in primarily the poor and uneducated--not the skills we need to be competitive in the global economy. And do we really need 1.2 million legal immigrants every year when 20 million Americans are unemployed or underemployed? Immigrants use welfare programs to a much greater degree than the native born. They are helping to destroy our social safety net.
America needs to wake up to the facts about immigration. We prefer to romanticize it rather than analyzing its impact on our country. Legal immigration is more of a problem than illegal immigration. Demography is destiny.
My grandmother lived in Hamden all her life. They have those amazing Christmas decorations still?

Oh,Yes, the Miracle on 34th street seems to be able to get more lights and decorations on the houses every year.
I live out near the Beltway but chose St Thomas Aquinas as my parish when I moved back to Baltimore years ago.
it’ll have to be earned
As i have commented on in the past our immigration policy is so biased it makes one wonder if anyone still cares about the welfare of the entire country or not.
When you have huge percentage of immigrants coming in who take from the country rather than give to the country and the country is already in fiscal decline its a formula for disaster.
Billions around the world would come to the US if they had the chance.
To pick only those who illegally get here as the winners to get citizenship and ignore those who could help the country from all over the world is ignorant and stupid and puts the country in decline. Exactly what the regime wants.

Answer: Ted Kennedy and the 1965 Immigration Act?
I just looked at the census website and saw that the count for the 2010 census was 308,745,538.
Are you seriously telling me that 12% of that number were not born in the US?
12% = 38.5million
That is a selective interpretation of immigration numbers.
Also look at the numbers for the late nineteenth century.
1880 census: 50,189,22209
1890 census: 62,947,714
Approximately 5 million immigrants between 1881 and 1890 meant that almost one in ten residents was an immigrant in that decade.

All of this discussion does not take away from the fact that our system of immigration is seriously broken, and has been for at least 3 decades. I just don't like anyone using selective stats to project a desired result.
Right now there are 316 million people in this country
Are you seriously telling me that 12% of that number were not born in the US? 12% = 38.5million
Absolutely. It is more than that. It was 12.4% in 2010 but edging closer to 13% now. How can you continuously deny the facts? If anything the numbers are understated. These are official government figures. The USG estimates that there are 11 million illegal aliens but other estimates are much higher. The 40-plus million includes the 11 million illegals.
We have more than 40 million foreign born in this country. We add about 1.5 million net each year. From 1860 to 1910, between 13 percent and 15 percent of people in the United States were born in another country. After 1910, the share of the population composed of the foreign born began a steady decline, falling to less than 5 percent by 1970. But that share has increased rapidly since 1970, reaching about 13 percent in the past few years. About 40 million foreign-born people now live in the United States.
All of this discussion does not take away from the fact that our system of immigration is seriously broken, and has been for at least 3 decades. I just don't like anyone using selective stats to project a desired result.
Seriously broken how? Be more specific on what you mean. You are mouthing the pro-amnesty rhetoric.
Selective stats? My God, are you serious? If you reject such basic information, no discourse is possible. What desired result am I after? What is your agenda?
Despite the cries of “You can’t just round up millions of people and deport them—we could.
How?
Get them to deport themselves.
Enforce the LAWS that are already on the books is step 1.
a. Jail time and fines for businesses knowingly hiring illegals.
b. Instant online searches the the Social Security Administration on any use of SSAN to get employment. Arrest those found using fraudulent numbers.
c. Absolutely NO assistance for any adult without an SSAN. See rule b. above.
Do these three things, and I predict millions of illegals will GO HOME. Simple as ABC....
