Is the grievance industry trying to create a racial Shroud of Turin?
The Smithsonian wants to display the hoodie worn by Tayvon Martin the night he was shot by neighborhood watch volunteer George Zimmerman. Really, is this what we need now? A modern-day abomination: a Turin Shroud for race-mongerers? Will this become a place of pilgrimage for people looking for reasons to hate?
George Zimmerman was found not guilty of murder by a jury in Florida. The system worked. Now that has not prevented race-hustlers from Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson, Barack Obama and Attorney General Eric Holder to the New Black Panther Party from trying to capitalize on Martin's death for profit and politics. But does a previously well-regarded federally-funded museum now have to join the carnival acts?
From Fox News:
Lonnie Bunch, director of the Smithsonian's National Museum of African American History and Culture told The Washington Post Martin's hoodie represents an to further the discussion about race in America.
"It became the symbolic way to talk the Trayvon Martin case. It's rare that you get one artifact that really becomes the symbol," Bunch told the newspaper. "Because it's such a symbol, it would allow you to talk about race in the age of Obama."
Bunch, who has acquired a guard tower from Louisiana's Angola State Penitentiary and the handcuffs used to restrain Harvard scholar Henry Louis Gates Jr. in 2009, said he'd like to have the hoodie for his collection once the legal case is over.

"Racial Shroud of Turin"? - I freaking love it. (Pausing to wipe coffee off screen.) That, or poster carriage_hill's "Shroud of Trayvon" should be used in any newspaper comments to put this gambit in a proper perspective.
Just when you think they can't pander any further . . . Next, no doubt, will be vials of blood that liquify on the anniversary of his shooting - or perhaps a painting of St. Skittles with a bottle of "tea" in one and hand a bag of you-know-what in the other.
Once you start thinking along this line, the parodies are endless.
I’m sure that the Martin family would be more than happy to SELL the hoodie to the Smithsonian for a couple of million.
They are taking this to such a ridiculous level that they have trivialized the whole incident. Doing more harm than good.
LOL!
I’m a zero with PhotoShop, but someone should do a “Shroud of Trayvon” poster with drugs, hoodie, a bullet hole, crown, sidewalk, screwdriver, Skittles, Watermelon drink, etc etc etc. Wish I had the talent and software to do it...
I wouldn’t care to see any of the items mentioned in the original article. There’s so much to see at The Smithsonian already, how do they expect to compete with other exhibits? Will school field trips be directed there?
If you look closely, you can see where they nailed him to that cross.
Correction. The National Museum of African American History and Culture is currently only a gallery in the National Museum of American History but is going to it’s own building in 2015.
"Bunch, who has acquired a guard tower from Louisiana's Angola State Penitentiary and the handcuffs used to restrain Harvard scholar Henry Louis Gates Jr. in 2009, said he'd like to have the hoodie for his collection once the legal case is over."
This guy is a racist. What of the symbol of blacks who felt Martin was a punk who stole jewelry. Maybe they could add a heap of jewelry found in Martin's backpack.
Maybe they could display the drink, the skittles and the Robitussin Martin used to get high. Maybe they could display his facebook photos. Maybe they could get a lifesize wax statue of Rachel Jeantel - accompanied by some recordings of her testimony. After all, she WAS the last person to talk with him before he was shot.
You know, to include some things to make the display not so one-sided and racist.
I would rather call the concoction of skittles, watermelon tea, cough syrup and a shot a Tray-von.

Too many on both sides are playing with the truth of the Zimmerman trial.. The regime and the media set the premise for the trial narrative and their presentations ignoring the setting where the incident took place..An area having a “Neighborhood Watch”. If some of those so called conservative talk show hosts had interviewed guests who run such watches they would have exposed the regime and the media for the frauds they are.
Particularly a “gated” neighborhood watch. When you enter one of these and start wandering around no matter if you are white, blue, red, green, or black. You can be asked your purpose for being there. You are on private property. And yes those on patrol can and do leave their vehicle and follow on foot if they lose sight of the person they’re observing.. .
Its the second time the President of the United States has interjected himself into a confrontation between those in authority on legal grounds reasonably questioned and released someone involved in a curious activity. Could this attitude be based from the idealized communist concept that there is no such thing as “private” property because the state (collective) owns the land ? .
(snip)
Why is this being done ? To cover up Fast and furious, IRS, Bengahzi, Solar panel gate, NSA spying on US,over-riding the constittution? Those are blamed on others .But not who accompaines Obama on his many trips around the world at taxpayer expence ? Were they the heavy hitters or their friends holding the presidents hand ? Never looked into either by the House and certainly not even speculated about or reported on by the media.
Seems like that could be considered pay back at US taxpayer expence. Isnt that an impeachable offense ? Now if somebody even suggests impeachment. What better way to discourage any investigation into malfeasance and corruption by organizing the base for riots in the streets ?
They can call the exhibit “Crump Hits the Ghetto Lottery.”
You got it!
OMG, Slime Mag did it as a cover. JF amazing.
Seems that this topic is the subject of the DAY.
[i.e. It has been given to the Journolists by the government (press release) to use to keep the public’s attention diverted.]
Yeah.... if it weren't for Obama, race would no longer be an issue in the United States.
