From what I gather at the site, the National Museum of African American History and Culture is only part of the National Museum of American History and not it’s own building. Answers the question of how they expect any visitors to speak of at all.

I wouldn’t care to see any of the items mentioned in the original article. There’s so much to see at The Smithsonian already, how do they expect to compete with other exhibits? Will school field trips be directed there?

Correction. The National Museum of African American History and Culture is currently only a gallery in the National Museum of American History but is going to it’s own building in 2015.
