Rand Paul: 'Sad and Cheap' for Chris Christie to use 'cloak' of 9/11 victims
Washington Times ^ | 7/30/13 | David Sherfinski

Sen. Rand Paul is upping the ante in his ongoing spat over national security with New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, calling it “sad and cheap” for Mr. Christie to invoke victims of the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks to make his point.

“It’s really, I think, kind of sad and cheap that he would use the cloak of 9/11 victims and say, ‘Oh, I’m the only one who cares about these victims.’ Hogwash,” Mr. Paul said Monday on Fox News’ “Hannity.” “If he cared about protecting this country, maybe he wouldn’t be in this ‘gimme, gimme, gimme all the money’ that you have in Washington or don’t have, and he’d be a little more fiscally responsive and know that the way we defend our country, the way we have enough money for national defense, is by being frugal and not by saying ‘gimme, gimme, gimme’ all the time.”

Given the choice between the two ideologies, I would take Rand Paul.

Christie had appeal at one time, but has lost it.

I do believe GOVERNORS make the best Presidents, so I hope someone with executive experience runs for the Republicans...and wins. And I hope it isn't Christie.

Better Christie than Hildebeast. But I think Hildie has the inside track to be nominated and win.

Paul is good in a lot of areas where his competition bombs. But he has his own significant unrealistic views. For example... if the globalism genie could ever be stuffed back into the bottle, and perhaps it was let out of the bottle before it had to be, now it is too big to fit. Modern technology has brought the whole world next door, not just Mexico and Canada. So I’d be curious what he actually would suggest implementing along that line and why he believes it would work. Ranting for ranting’s sake goes nowhere; we have to use the resources that exist, not the ones that don’t, and failing to realize this wastes political capital.

"Better Christie than Hildebeast. But I think Hildie has the inside track to be nominated and win."

Christie is too conservative for a Democrat, even if he's waaaaaay left of center for a Republican.

Backed by Soros and Google money, I'm starting to worry about Ross Perot v.3.0.

A Democrat crowd which was willing to swallow Obama again (even though he’s created, on balance, more grief than happiness for them) would have zero difficulty with Hillary. Why, they’d even go for Nancy Pelosi.

As I’ve long been preaching here now, the return to national sanity (which most likely path looks like a return of the GOP to sanity then to dominance) needs to be rooted in a return to the Lord; there are jobs in heaven and the benefits are out of this world, if I may put it that way, and as a relocation bonus we get access to Holy Spirit power NOW. Employer description and job manual: the bible. I could go on in this metaphorical vein but most of you know the idea. And if you’re working there now but have gotten slack, you’ll be forgiven; just reinvest yourself once more.

OK... I get off of soapbox now.

I didn't mean Christie could be the Demonrat candidate. Of course he is much too conservative and actually is pro-American, anathema to Libs. I meant if he were the Republican candidate he would be defeated by the likely Dem candidate, Hildebeast.

No, I think we have seen exactly what unfixable damage rino's are doing to our party and country.

If this fight is not won within the party then the party is going to split.....and it should or this country is lost.

I will never vote for another rino because he is the lesser of two evils.....I am done voting for evil.

“I swallow a lot of aggression. Along with a lot of pizzas.” Chris “Tubby” Christie.

Don’t you think RINO Romney would have been preferable to four more years of the Obamanation? If you don’t, I respect your opinion.

No, played that game already. If it is between Christie and Hillary, I stay home. I’ll never vote for another RINO.

Rush made a perfectly *snarky* comment yesterday — he predicted Christie would be the Democrap nominee for president in 2016.

*snort*

Yep. If Rino’s pimp Christie on us, I’m staying home too.

He is a rat fat bastard. I’d rather have Hillary. The devil you know is better than the devil you don’t know.

I think Rush may be right on this one.

Christie seems to like Dems better than Republicans, so I wouldn't be surprised to see him turn in his Republican credentials.

Maybe that's why he's picking a fight with Rand Paul.
