George Zimmerman's Brother: Trayvon Martin Skeletons Coming Out in Civil Trial
Gather ^ | July 30, 2013 | Hillary Hill

Posted on 07/30/2013 11:52:12 PM PDT by 2ndDivisionVet

George Zimmerman's brother is trying to warn Trayvon Martin's family about the additional pain and suffering they could go through if they try to bring a wrongful death civil suit against his acquitted brother.

As of July 30, many people in the country still labor under the illusion of the images painted of Trayvon Martin and George Zimmerman on the night Zimmerman shot and killed Martin, an unarmed teen from Miami. For example, erroneous reporting about the 911 call led many to believe that Zimmerman racially profiled the teen when NBC News later admitted the tape was aired out of context when it was reconfigured due to cutting and splicing the media tool, prompting a legal suit by the accused in the murder case.

Likewise, a judge ruled that information about Martin's fighting tendencies--just days before the fight with Zimmerman--could not be revealed to the jury during the Seminole County murder trial. And Judge Debra Nelson also ruled that photos of the dead teen holding guns and appearing to exhale smoke could not be used either. School expulsions for alleged wrongdoing were absent from the court, too, and the media largely ignored derogatory reporting about Sybrina Fulton's son.

The respect shown the victim was good in the sense that too many crime victims are revictimized after a crime by defense attorneys seeking to get off guilty clients. And Mark O'Mara, Zimmerman's attorney, was not allowed to do that to the memory of Martin. Yet the jury found in favor of the defendant anyway because the law showed he was not guilty of premeditated murder--or racial profiling.

A civil court, however, will allow the victim in addition to the accused to be presented in their entirety, factually. And that means the truth about Trayvon Martin's past will come back to haunt his mother and family if they move forward with this case. So George Zimmerman's brother is merely stating the obvious rather than trying to threaten the Martin family from moving forward. After all, they surely don't want the school where Trayvon attended to enlighten the country about how their son was expelled from school due to his antagonist behavior to authorities and his alleged criminal activities on the premises. And they don't want media reporting about his fighting tendencies, and how he felt he was good at it. Do they?

The Martin family can continue to enjoy the blind support of many in the African American community and elsewhere if they let this sleeping dog lie, but if they take Zimmerman to civil court in a wrongful death lawsuit then the gloves will come off. And no parent wants their child remembered for the things they did wrong. Nor do they want the world to know their child might have egged on the fatal blow that was dealt them either. And that's why Zimmerman's brother seems to think they will not pursue a lawsuit against his brother, according to the Huffington Post, telling the media outlet that "things that might not be flattering to Trayvon or his family" would come out.

I see in the new “religion” skittles and watermelon drink (drank, drunk...whatever) have replaced the bread and the wine.

“The body of Trayvon.”

“Amen.”

Do the FL statutes protect Zimmerman in any way from facing a civil trial?? And I do recall O’Mara stating that, in the event a civil trial was sought naming his client, that he would seek and receive immunity from it, based on the aquittal in the first trial.......anyone know??

That’s not going to stop them. It’s all about the $$$$. If they think they can get any, they’ll proceed. I can’t see them winning though, and it’s not like GZ has a lot in the way of assets even if they did win.

I can see NBC and the prosecutors encouraging (and subsidizing) the lawsuit, as a way to pressure Zimmerman into settling on the anticipated lawsuits against NBC and the prosecutors.

“Who is going to pay for GZ’a attorney?”......

In a FAIR WORLD I’d put this question up front, “You lose the case, you pay my attorney fees.” With that stipulation, there wouldn’t be a trial.

Ah!! The HOA paid out a settlement to them??? Wasn’t aware of that! Interesting....

And that is called paying the Dane-geld;
But we’ve proved it again and again,
That if once you have paid him the Dane-geld
You never get rid of the Dane.

*I did attempt to post facts, both in e-mail and on Facebook. But facts, logic, and crime rate statistics, to liberals, are like kryptonite to Superman. Both had bought into that GD liberal narrative hook, line, and sinker.

My sister is an Obummer voter; don't know about the ex-friend. She calls herself "middle of the road" politically, which I suspect really means that she doesn't believe in much of anything. I finally asked her not to darketn my inbox again. She's kind of a Ms. Privilege, married to a well-to-do attorney. She spends her days lunching with friends, playing mah jong, etc. Don't know if she's actually been self-supporting anytime recently. Pretty protected and sheltered, seems to me. Probably han't yet encountered a flash mob.

Why didn’t St. Skittles dial 911 if he worried about a creepy ass cracker following him home? Because he didn’t worry about it, he was going to whoop the cracker’s ass.

The losing party will pay the legal fees. Secondly, GZ can also file a counter civil lawsuit against the Martin family...do they want to bankrupt themselves for chasing windmills?

I don’t know how much good a civil trial would do in terms of turning the tide of opinion against St. Traytable in terms of his real character as opposed to the MSM’s portrayal. But I am tempted to say, “Bring it on!” anyway.

Then the black race mafia will have contributed to completely rehabilitating GZ’s image.

I think GZ has more potential assets than many realize. He already has a suit against NBC for the defamatory editing they did on the recording of his phone call to the police. This could be worth several million. He has more suits just waiting to be filed against other media outlets. He has claims against the State of Florida for the railroad job they did.
IMHO, and IANAL, the potential suits against journalism should put Zimmerman, O’Mara, and West on Easy Street. With enough left over to indemnify Zimmerman’s friends against their losses and security infringements. The thing is, NBC is low-hanging fruit because nobody with two functioning neurons in their head could believe that the excision of answers and then questions from the Zimmerman conversation with the police NEN was anything less than a malicious libel. NBC intentionally promoted a situation in which Zimmerman is, perhaps permanently, unable to work and have a normal life. Zimmerman shouldn’t be settling with NBC for less than $20 million (with the lawyers in for half). I think they should really be suing for $100 million, and hanging pretty tough in negotiations to settle. Because they have an open-and-shut case.

But to me the real deal is to sue journalism as a whole. How? By naming the Associated Press and its member news outlets. And claiming that they are in cahoots among themselves to propagandize against Zimmerman (actually, against middle class Americans in general - Zimmerman should be lead plaintiff in a class action lawsuit). It should be a RICO lawsuit, asking for triple damages. Ruinous damages, because of their outrageous propagandistic behavior.

The Associated Press in particular, and wire services in general, are anachronisms in the Internet era because their business model is predicated on the value of conserving transmission bandwidth - bandwidth which by now is dirt cheap. Wire services have inherent monopolistic tendencies.

And the FCC should also be named, and be enjoined against promoting or even allowing broadcast journalism which claims objectivity (which is after all indistinguishable from claiming wisdom, which is the source of sophistry).

If the Martin. Crew does not sue. Count on Zimmerman adding them as parties in the malicious prosicution case
The Martins will only use their racist “civil rights” attorneys who can also be added as defendents to his suit.

I believe you are correct - this is more than about money.

The goal is to eliminate ‘self-defense’ and ‘stand your ground’ laws thereby emasculating gun owners and making thugery safer for the thugs.

Either of those incidents could have put Trayvon Martin into the custody of the juvenile justice system.

I'd like to bet Travon already had a thick juvenile record. While else was that the FIRST place daddy called when looking for him the next morning. Probably had the number on speed dial.

” Bring it on!

After Zimmerman was acquitted the lib stream of talking points was that if Zimmerman took the stand he would have been convicted, and that a civil trial would force him to testify under oath.”

This ain’t happening, and Holder isn’t going after Zimm, either. Nothing to gain, plenty to lose.

In my post I was not referring to Trayvon, but to “martin”, the insiders name for Martin Luther King Jr.

As in “ I marched with Martin”

The possibility of confusion with trayvon went right over my head.
