FRANKLIN, La. (AP) - St. Mary Parish could be the site of the state's first commercial wind farm of energy-producing turbines under a plan by a Metairie company.

The Advocate reports Southern States Renewable Energy is proposing a $40 million project that, under the current plan, would bring eight 498-foot-tall wind turbines to an isolated patch of coastal land near the Port of West St. Mary.

Duck hunters, Canadian Geese hunters will suffer from these wind farms.

Need to get the EPA/state to intervene. Louisiana is the Sportsman's Paradise.

FoxNews did an article that HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS of birds are killed year by wind farms -- including BALD EAGLES.

And environmentalists complain about oil companies.

This type of project would be best on offshore oil platforms where no birds would probably be harmed...

Of course, then there is the problem with transmission of the electricity to shore facilities...

I guess instead of duck hunting, hunters can just go to the wind farms and pick up dead ducks and dead Canadian geese [sarc off]

The environuts don’t actually care about birds, animals or the environment. They just care about pushing their vile agenda.

There are alot of Federal dollars that go into these green projects, which is another reason I am opposed to them...

Louisiana is known as the Sportman's Paradise, so if these wind machines start killing ducks and geese, there will be hell to pay.

Egrets are also a bird that is valued in Louisiana (a white water fowl). Picture below:

The Department of the Interior is issuing “take permits” allowing these monstrosities to kill bald eagles.

A proposed wind farm in Osage County, Oklahoma is asking permission to kill at least three eagles per year for 30 years.

Someday, we'll look back and wonder why...

My point on this thread is the following:

It is okay to shoot ducks and geese out of the air during hunting season with shotguns. But it is not okay to waste FEDERAL TAXDOLLARS on wind machines that will kill these birds as well as be a drain on the Federal Budget.

This is just a case of FEDERAL TAX WASTE that the Dimwit Democrats promote...

The best location for a wind farm is Capitol Hill.

Louisiana has the largest variety of birds in the country because La. is a main path for migratory birds. The birds stop on La. to rest and feed before heading over the gulf. On the trip back they stop and rest before returning to their summer haunts.
