FWIW, here’s the transcript of the 911 call (2:38 AM) via one of the links in the original article.
I guess everybody in that neighborhood is just settling down for the night at 2:38 AM — closing blinds, having a smoke.
Here’s where it goes wrong I think:
Dispatch: You said you heard him trying to crank it up?
Caller: Uh, yes He keeps ducking down underneath the dashboard, trying to reach for something.
Dispatch: O.K., and youve never seen him before, right?
Caller: No.
Real life. Hunting for lost coins, smokes, pens or whatever in the car can take time. I once spent 10-15 minuets trying to snaggle a dime that had gone under my car seat.
A man shot his yard?
LOL, who writes these titles?
This caller, how long has he been in the ‘hood? Can he identify anyone at 2:38 am who is behind a windshield?
Cranking and reaching down under the dash are two different things.
On the bright side of things, good thing he didn’t drive to the store to buy a pack of smokes. It might have ended up being a car chase and him being charged with stealing a car.
I wonder if the man got “swatted” by the caller. Might be interesting if the caller and the injured man have a bad history between the 2 of them!
