In March, MacIver brought the violation to a traffic court, and the police officer who ticketed him testified that he ran the red light.

I'm not sure what gives with cops today. Do they do a penis check and only accept applicants with small penises? Shooting dogs, 93 year old nursing home residents, issuing phony traffic tickets? That's the best they can do? In this case, thank goodness for dash cam video. Try to videotape or otherwise record every encounter you have or you see happening with police--otherwise a lying cop would have the advantage. That's becoming an urgent necessity, unfortunately.

Then in the video, the cop told McIver he pulled him over b/c he was *crossing the white line.*

I’d have to watch the vid again, but I didn’t notice that to be the case on 1st look. OK, the cop crossed the white line as many times as McI did.

One thing I know about VT, they are very strict about using your signal, when changing lanes...that has always been the case.

God!I just hate it when Police Officers abuse their authority.They wonder why the Public disrepects them.This is a Prime example.

The Complainant should have told that Officer Not to lose that video and that he would be seeing him in court.

It seems that the Officer didn’t believe the complainant would take him there since he(The Officer)didn’t show up.

The only way to cure abuses of authority like that is to hit these Officers in the wallet.

Did anyone see Huckabee’s show this weekend, about how we have militarized the police? Some cops have Peacekeepers for crying out loud! (That’s a tank like we use in Afghanistan). Why in hell does any police department need a main battle tank to protect and serve?
