Pentagon considering affirmative action in combat

Senior military personnel are considering now giving women different military training than men, The Washington Times reports.

The effort was proposed by Massachusetts Democrat Rep. Niki Tsongas at a recent House Armed Services Committee hearing because so far, she says training systems do not “maximize the success of women.”

Though the armed services have promised that combat standards will be the same regardless of gender, senior officers are considering initially separate training systems.

Army Lt. Gen. Howard Bromberg, serving as deputy chief of staff for personnel, considers separate training programs to be more about considering all soldiers as individuals, citing a need to explore how the training process works.

“We’re not looking at it just for the integration of women,” Bromberg said. “We’re looking at it for the total soldier, because just as you have a 110-pound male who may lack some type of physiological capability or physical capability, he or she may both need to be trained differently. We’re trying to expand our understanding of how we train.”(continued)

We already have de facto quotas for women in the military, and soon they will be extended to homosexuals as well.

For instance, either 10% of the unit will have to be homosexual, or the whole unit will have to be homosexual 10% of the time...

...and Christianity will be added as new offense under the UCMJ.

Killing the women is the first thing those interested in genocide or eugenics do. The women have the babies.

Exactly - just like a farmer eating the seed corn.

Maybe they should just start decreasing the amount of combat training for everyone and increase the amount of time spent in sexual assault, suicide, and anti-terrorism briefs as well as time spent on pointless area beautification details.

Oh wait, they’re already doing that.

A lot of nice words ,but what does it mean??

Well it means that women cannot do the same jobs as men , but we are going to force the military to use them anyway.

We may get some people killed, but what is that compared to having women think they are men’s equals?

We had a woman that kept insisting she was equal to a man. One guy said let’s go out in the alley and see how equal you are.

She refused. She was smart, she would have gotten her ass kicked.

“I say make them adhere to the same grooming and appearance standards. High and tight haircuts, no jewelry or makeup in uniform.”

I’d say the manly women joining the military are cool with this. But homosexual male soldiers and trannies would file a lawsuit on you

I also registered. One of my daughters asked me about her registering and I looked into it for her. Found out it is illegal for a female to attempt to register for the draft.

My LT in Iraq was a female. She used to complain all the time about having to go out on missions. I told her she didn’t have to g and that she could send someone else (even me). She said “no that’s ok.” So I told her to quit bitching about it then.

“However, their sacrifice no matter how misguided deserves our respect..

In this world of wimps anyone volunteering to serve this great country deserves our respect and thanks..”

Your assertions are so convoluted and contradictory I don't know where to start. First: Delusion is no basis for heroics. Heroics are intentional. Being killed because you or another were painstakingly taught lies that you must mouth, salute and respect irrespective of their damage to the mission and ultimately US foreign policy hardly qualifies as either heroic or (traditionally) American. The first words out of Jessica Rambos mouth when the RPG hit the fan were “We're not supposed to be here”.

If America is "great" then why would you or anyone else stand and salute a policy of enforced lies the linear effect of which is to in and of THEMSELVES cause death and loss?

The women can’t keep up with male standards inTRAINING, but we’re going to pit them against aggressive, male, enemies in combat? Who the hell is running the military, Gloria Steinum?

As far as expendable again, why do men make wars? I haven’t found a good answer for that one...

Historically, men have made wars for the benefit of women. Wars get fought, at root, either to secure resources, or to defend resources, and to create a viable environment for the women to have children in.

The driving factor of WWI was Germany desiring access to colonies in Africa and elsewhere, to secure resources. The driving factor of WW2 was Germany wanting land to the east ( Lebensraum ) and Japan wanting to conquer resource-rich Allied colonies in Asia and the Pacific.

Despite me being 47 and terminally nearsighted, although the 1980's era kid in me would love to fly an F-15, I'd never get in but Mom said, "I'd never let you die for Obama."

I was 43 when I joined the Army. If you are a professional in certain fields, the age requirements are different than for most military recruits.

However, I do not think you will be able to fulfill your dream of becoming a pilot. I'm pretty sure you have to be young and have nearly 20/20 vision.

"Army Lt. Gen. Howard Bromberg, serving as deputy chief of staff for personnel, considers separate training programs to be more about considering all soldiers as individuals, citing a need to explore how the training process works."

And here I thought the entire idea of training was to convert individuals into team members. If that's no longer the case, they should do away with the countless hours of marching in boot camp. Why these PC Generals and Admirals have a need to change what has worked forever is beyond me.

As much as I hated marching around on the "grinder" in San Diego and the obstacle course, I got it even then - the same with General Quarters training/drills and my flight deck fire-fighting training. It's always been about building an effective cohesive unit. Guess they should just ask who wants to be a SEAL and those who raise their hands get the trident for their uniform. And while they're at it, why bother to have haircut standards?
