After reviewing the evidence, Judge Thomas K. Harmon ordered Sergio Perez held in jail without bail. Perez, who has no permanent address, is charged with first-degree sexual assault, first-degree assault and burglary.
According to the prosecution, Perez entered the woman's South Omaha home through an unlocked door. He allegedly beat and raped her before falling asleep on top of her about 9 a.m. Sunday.

It is Nebraska. I am not sure what the current status of the death penalty here is. I believe it is still allowable as a sentence, but the procedure is currently under suspension due to a review of the drugs used and sources of the drugs.
