Former Pink Floyd bass player and vocalist Roger Waters offended some audience members at a concert last week when he raised a pig-shaped balloon emblazoned with the iconic Jewish symbol the Star of David and a variety of fascist symbols.
Waters has been a prominent pro-Palestinian activist, publicly advocating the BDS (Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions) campaign to boycott Israel and is now being called “an open hater of Jews.”
Ynet reports that at Waters’ show in Belgium last Saturday, a balloon in the shape of a pig was raised overhead and on it a Star of David along with “symbols of dictatorial organizations and regimes from around the world.”
“Next to the Star of David, on the wild pig balloon, there was also a sign of oil conglomerate Shell, and a graffiti message stating, ‘Everything will be okay, just keep consuming,’ and ‘What’s wrong with people?’” reports Ynet.

Artists best let their art speak for them. Musicians, artists, actors, whatever. Because art crosses boundaries that other forms of communication cannot.
But some folks aren’t content with that, and insist on becoming explicitly political. Art can’t survive that, and its almost always a mistake. They destroy the voice that they had and that they could have had.
In the case of Roger Waters, he is no David Gilmour. So no loss.
There will be no outrage. In liberal circles it’s OK to trash Israel.

Much as I like Pink Floyd “Animals,” I strongly suspect Waters lives much more like a Pig than a Dog or a Sheep.

I guess they ride wooden tired bicycles with carts full of their non electric equipment to put on their overpriced concerts. Saw them in 1975 or 76 at Anaheim stadium. Great concert. $17.00. My how they have gotten so greedy. I will not keep “consuming” their product, anti-Semite garbage that they have become.
I'll bet that dipwad consumes more in a day than I do in a month. I'll bet his concert consumes more energy at one venue, than I consume all year. I'll bet he doesn't understand irony, as consumption is the only way that dipwad makes money.

Now we have an artist that has a light shining on an inflatable pig which is actually a pre programmed gel shape in the majority of concert lighting effects and someone takes a picture of it just at the right time and now he is an anti semite. Even if the statement was interpreted correctly, who cares. Is he having press conferences where he is calling for jews to be exterminated? No he isnt. Is he making anti jew statements? No he isnt, at least nit any more than jews make anti white statements. For what it is worth, Waters has recently spoken out against Greece’s Golden Dawn. This is the Greek nationalist party that is helping the indigeonous Greeks being discriminated by their own country. By stating Greece for Greeks, Golden Dawn is demonized as neo nazis. Waters has made derogatory comments about Golden Dawn so he obviously isnt right wing.
