WASHINGTON (AP) -- Attorney General Eric Holder announced Thursday the Justice Department is opening a new front in the battle for voting rights in response to a Supreme Court ruling that dealt a major setback to voter protections.
In a speech to the Urban League in Philadelphia, the attorney general said the Justice Department is asking a federal court in San Antonio to require the state of Texas to obtain approval in advance before putting future voting changes in place.

Isn’t it odd that in this day and age anyone thinks or feels that anyone else is out to eliminate citizens from voting, anywhere in the United States?
Does anyone here think or feel that it’s true?
I for one would be real angry if that’s a fact, but I just don’t see it happening now.
Holder is just supporting the Black Grievance Industry, providing ammo for their on-going war on white people. Meanwhile, we are all minding our own business trying to make a living out of this economic mess.
Holder is lashing out, in defiance of the SCOTUS.. AGAIN.
I would be nice of the Republicans tried to cut the DOJ budget next year. There definitely are units in DOJ that are illegally ignoring the “Law” as well as Supreme Court decisions.
Time to start the “death by a thousand budget cuts”.
obama and holder are meeting with interested groups today. Those interested groups do not include a single voter fraud prevention group.
this meeting is about protecting fraud.
