WASHINGTON (AP) -- Attorney General Eric Holder announced Thursday the Justice Department is opening a new front in the battle for voting rights in response to a Supreme Court ruling that dealt a major setback to voter protections.
In a speech to the Urban League in Philadelphia, the attorney general said the Justice Department is asking a federal court in San Antonio to require the state of Texas to obtain approval in advance before putting future voting changes in place.
This requirement to obtain "pre-approval" from either the Justice Department or a federal court before making changes to voting laws is available when intentional voting discrimination is found.

Texas does not like being messed around with!
“Don’t mess with Texas!!!” ???
Apparently Holder has not gotten the memo...
Sounds like Department of INJUSTICE AG Eric Holder is just thumbing his nose at the US Supreme Court as well as others -- in defiance of the law.
That is why ERIC HOLDER's over the DEPARTMENT OF INJUSTICE. Justice went out the door when ERIC HOLDER stepped in as AG...
This has to do with attempts to institute voter ID laws to prevent voter fraud. And we know that Rats approve wholeheartedly of voter fraud.
he is totally disregarding the Supreme Courts decision trying to do this. He will lose big time. I know AG Abbott is likely on top of this right now in Texas. So sick of Holder!
Libs are really happy about this in the Washington Post version of this article. They’re claiming old people cannot get ID’s. If they can get to the polls, they can get to the DMV to get an ID. Wtf is the problem?
Eric Holder’s new Federal Poll Watchers to be transferred from Philly to cities in Texas...
He will lose big time, I think, but he is not "totally disregarding" the Supreme Court decision in Shelby County. That case only had to do with the forumula set forth in Section 4 of the VRA. It left in place the pre-clearance provision itself (Section 5), as well as Section 3, which allows the DoJ to seek a court order requiring pre-clearance if it can show that the jurisdiction violated the VRA. This is an approach that was not tested or ruled on in the recent case.
I hate having to correct Associated Propagandist articles, but somebody has to do it.
“Voter protection” to these freaks means allowing people to vote illegally
AG opens new front on voting fraud protection. Please get the titles correct.
Why not let a computer assemble “fair” voting districts by putting together adjacent elementary school districts?
Just have the computer “solve” for:
(1) Roughly equal populations in the “final” voting districts
(2) Minimal “perimeters” for the “final” districts.
This will prevent “gerrymanders”
This will reduce racial polarization
This will make America less radical

I copied it directly from the article...
But I do see that the time on the article in the link has changed from the original posting...
AP changed the title...AFTER I posted the story here...From what I know about the posting rules, the OP is NOT required to update the title (in this case) if the originating agency changes that or content in the article...
You’re only making sense, and that is racist!!! /sarc
Either Holder does his job on what needs to be taken care of, or impeach the bastard...
I would settle for the latter...
If so, I give them a life expectancy of less than 1 minute. Malik Shabazz would instantly become Dead Al Shabazz!
