State Representative Believes Trayvon Was Entitled to a Jury of His Peers (VANITY)
WRKF ^

Posted on 07/24/2013 7:20:06 AM PDT by TigerClaws

Jim continues discussion of the George Zimmerman trial verdict with Baton Rouge Rep. Ted James.

***

8 minutes in and 23 minutes in. At 23:30 he "stakes" his law degree that Trayvon was entitled to a jury of his peers, despite a listener pointing out that, in fact, it was the defendant, Zimmerman, entitled to such Constitutional protection.

The rest of the conversation contains the usual spin mixed with falsehoods: That stand your ground had something to do with this case, that TM was an innocent child shot down, etc.

I don’t think six dead thugs would be very good jurors.

He WAS judged by a jury of his peers ... they were all Americans.

Now, if they want more .. or different .. move to another country.

A Jury Of TRAYVON'S PEERS would of necessity had to have included Trayvon Obama Senior and I dont think the POTUS can serve on a jury while in office can he?

Right, but he is dead, therefore he doesn’t need a jury of his peers!

Just more proof that law colleges do not require at least an average IQ nor do they graduate those knowledgeable of law. Liberal bigotry and bias is acceptable to law colleges.

There was a potential juror who was black.

I think the prosecution excused the juror because the juror admitted to watching Fox News.

But there was a black alternate.

I think the prosecution pinned their hopes on the women because they were all mothers.

And as such - they would let emotion and sympathy overrule logic and convict Z for killing some poor mothers’s child.

Didn’t work out that way.

It didn’t work out that way because the prosecution didn’t have a case, even so, 3 of them originally wanted to convict Zimmerman, before changing their minds....it shouldn’t have even come to that.

I believe the prosecution did what they did to satisfy Corey.

The cops didn't charge Z 'cause St. Trayvon was just another dead ****** , and Z told a plausable story.

Only weeks later did al dulldumb push to rile the natives that gave Corey the idea that it should be a national trial.

I firmly believe the prosecution intentionally threw the game.

Nothing else explains all the defense witnesses the prosecution called.

The real problem for a lot of people in our country nowadays, it would seem, is that the verdict came at the end of the trial and not at the beginning.

Seems odd, though, that there were no blacks.

There was at least one black in the jury pool who was eliminated by the prosecution.

Read more here:

ll Women Jury Selected in George Zimmerman Trial

O’Mara added that “the state struck the first Black juror and then we got our six.” He continued: “I had questions about two Black jurors on their ability to be fair and impartial and we talked about that. That’s been I think now put on the record when it comes to my thoughts and the judge agreed that they were race neutral reasons. So while people can look at it and have this reaction: there’s no Blacks on the jury, there’s no this, or there’s no that, tell me we did something wrong in the process and I’ll agree with you. If you look at this process and I’ll agree with you if you look at the process and say it was done fairly than the result was fair.”

Attorneys for Trayvon Martin’s parents issued a statement after the jury was chosen, saying:

“This case has always been about equal justice. Equal justice under the law is not a Black value or a White value. It’s an American value. With the makeup of this jury, the question of whether every American can get equal justice regardless of who serves on their jury panel will be answered. We expect the jury pool to do their duty and be fair and impartial. We firmly believe that when these jurors see the overwhelming evidence that will be put before them in the coming weeks, they will find George Zimmerman guilty of murder on the night in question.”
