Al Sharptons proud of himself.
Hes helped put the country through a week of turmoil over a jurys verdict; hes pushed himself to the forefront of national attention.
Hes even gotten the president of the United States to weigh in publicly on the George Zimmerman verdict sans teleprompter in an ostensibly impromptu speech to reporters that made national news throughout the weekend
And yet, the Rev. Al remains unassuming.
As a guest on the network where he hosts his own evening talk show, Sharpton appeared Monday with MSNBCs Craig Melvin to modestly say his own piddling efforts to keep the Zimmerman case simmering werent aimed at the president far from it only at trying to change the laws of democratically elected legislatures throughout the land to a manner more suited to the Reverends liking.
When Melvin asked how it was that President Obama came to be pressured to making a statement on the Zimmerman acquittal, Sharpton responded basically, shucks, warnt nothing but some democratic activism in action.
I helped organize a lot of the outrage around this, Sharpton said. None of it was focused on pushing the president. It was pushing legislation and pushing the criminal justice system.
And if that means pushing the Department of Justice, under Attorney General Eric Holder, to put an innocent man through another legal gauntlet, well, the Rev. Al is down with that too.
We did not need the president to pre-empt the Justice Department, Sharpton said.
In fact, it might even be counterproductive, he said.
Given the presidents involvement, Sharpton said, some people might think a continued Justice Department investigation of Zimmerman is based on politics.
Who in the world would think that? And why?
Check out the Rev. here.

I watched livestreaming of the animal behavior in the Crenshaw area of Los Angeles. They blocked traffic, frequently climbing atop moving cars or surrounding them. They also walked and stomped on cars in a parking lot.
“#JusticeForTrayvon: Lets go mess up Hollywood for Trayvon”
“A group of a few dozen young people, callers said, was running in and out of traffic, knocking people over on the sidewalks and snatching their belongings. Some stole food and souvenir tchotchkes from stores as they went ”
In the end, 12 people were arrested on suspicion of robbery 11 juveniles and one 18

Why not take up for this "white hispanic" murdered in cold blood by a 17yro "trayyyvawn" wannabe? AKA DeMarquise Elkins
Justice for Antonio West you racist pig!
I read he’s owed that money for years as well but they are too scared to throw him in jail. Then you got someone like James Gandolfini who because he didn’t plan right, is going to end up paying 50% death tax. They want 50% of his estate and gave his family 9 months to pay or they start the auction. Real nice.
Al Sharpton is looking very close to death.
One would have thought that Reverend Al would have learned something from the fallout of the Tawana Brawley hoax.
***
Ah, but $$$harpton did learn something from it. He learned that he can shoot his big mouth off any time he wants and the media will not call him on it even if his words cause people to be killed.
Yup, Elkins took heed, did the deed.
But I like how eric “the red” holdup is using the “justus” department to “take care” of “hiz peeps.”
Hey, eric, there will be a day of reckoning. And somehow, I think you are NOT going to like it.
Ten demonstrators here, a dozen over there, pretty soon you get around a hundred, maybe, if the weather is nice and the buses get the community organizers to the right place -
actually I heard 300 in downtown Dayton which shocked me. I didn’t think we had 300 people LIVING in downtown Dayton, and that would be counting the homeless folks.
I guess there were either a lot of folks with nothing better to do, or several busloads were sent over from Columbus. Probably the latter.
Thanks for the info.
I really believe there is a special level of Hell reserved for Rev. Al Sharpton and Rev. Jesse Jackson.
Nope. There's nothing special about Sharpton and Jackson. They'll get the regular, ordinary version of hell. Even in hell they won't be extraordinary or special, just damned.
Sez the rooster who laid the egg: “LOOK LOOK what I did! LOOK LOOK what I did!”
I ride the subway everyday and I’ve seen, heard, felt, sensed NOTHING since the verdict to indicate that blacks are outraged. Nothing.
Many times I am bewildered why people like Andrew Breitbart are taken from this earth so early and then I see Al and Jesse allowed to continue spewing their filth and racism all the time.
More people visit the local Starbucks in a given hour than attended his protests this last weekend. Not sure what he is bragging about.
However, Chief Charles Hurley of the Miami-Dade School Police Department (MDSPD) in 2010 had implemented a policy that reduced the number of criminal reports, manipulating statistics to create the appearance of a reduction in crime within the school system. Less than two weeks before Martins death, the school system commended Chief Hurley for decreasing school-related juvenile delinquency by an impressive 60 percent for the last six months of 2011. What was actually happening was that crimes were not being reported as crimes, but instead treated as disciplinary infractions.
It's not just the schools pretending black crime is lower than it is - cities are doing this too...
