In related news, I was finally able to pop that damn pimple on my arm.
I think Sgt. Drebben said it best:
Protecting the Queen's safety is a task that is gladly accepted by Police Squad. No matter how silly the idea of having a queen might be to us, as Americans, we must be gracious and considerate hosts.
This is HUGE news up here in Canada, but then again they still show fealty to the Crown.
Personally, I think this is the least important news ever. And I am commenting on the breathless coverage, not the event.

No, although it’s not unusual for people to say, “Don’t you have 11 children?” counting my husband as the 11th.
But anyway, our son James went through a phase of talking to himself, “I don’t want this!” “That’s bad, James, you know you have to eat your supper.” “Oh, you’re right, James!” And so he became known as “James and his other brother James, the two of them,” or for short, “The James.”

Just another excuse for the evil media to avoid odumbo’s scandals. Wait—never mind, they don’t cover them anyway.

According to the
monarchy's website it is not required for the baby to have a surname, because prior to 1917 members of the royal family did not have surnames as they adopted the name of the house or dynasty to which they belonged. If the duke and duchess decide to include a surname, there are three choices available: Mountbatten-Windsor, Wales, or Cambridge. In 1917, King George V replaced his house name with Windsor, from Windsor Castle, while Prince Philip adopted the surname Mountbatten from his British maternal grandparents. The couple could also decide to keep it simple and leave it at "His/Her Royal Highness Prince/Princess of Cambridge."

My mom tried to call him Jim ... and now she calls him “James Call Me James.” His brothers all have one-syllable nicknames - Bill, Tom, Pat, Dan, Frank - but James gets his whole name.

This is probably more than you want to know, but “natural birth,” in the mom trade, means more than just “not a C-section.” There’s also “no anesthesia” and more gory details.

Having a Caesarean section doesn’t stop anyone from wearing a bikini. The scar is quite low and is well hidden.
