PHILADELPHIA — The mother of slain Florida teenager Trayvon Martin and U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder will speak in Philadelphia at the National Urban League’s annual conference, which will focus on civil rights, voting rights and job creation.
The four-day event, which begins Wednesday, comes less than a month after the Supreme Court struck down a key provision of the Voting Rights Act and not long after the man who shot Martin was acquitted in the racially charged case....

At the time of the shooting she was a government employee in Miami. She’s been gone a long time from her government job (over a year). Is she still being paid by the government? If so, how long is she allowed to be out on family leave, particularly when she’s running around the country giving speeches, not sobbing into her pillow at home. It has been well over a year since her son expired.
