NEW YORK, Jan. 14. (AP) - Announcement was made today that the board of directors of the Associated Press at a recent meeting held "that government can not engage in newscasting without creating the fear of propaganda which necessarily would reflect upon the objectivity of the news services from which such newscasts are prepared." The text:
"The Associated Press stands committed to the principle of freedom of access to the news and to the free flow of news throughtout the world.
It holds that news thus disseminated by nongovernmental news agencies is essential to the highest development of mankind and to the perpetuation of peace between nations. It recognized the possibility of useful purpose served by governments in the maintenance throughout the world of official libraries of information. It applauds the vigorous manner in which the present national administration has advanced in the doctrine of press freedom. It holds however that government can not engage in newscasting without creating the fear of propaganda which necessarily would reflect upon the objectivity of the news services from which such newscasts are prepared."
The entire article is only three paragraphs long.
As our government is preparing to bring yet another propaganda mill to the domestic market, once upon a time there were media organizations opposed such measures.
Ping....
AP saying that is the best laugh of the day.
They ARE 0dumbo’s mouthpieve
but I can see why they’d be upset.
They won’t be needed by that vile POS 0dumbo as much anymore
As if we don’t have enough propaganda.
ABC, NBC, CBS, CNN, MSNBC...
Nut-job Conspiracy Theory Ping!
To get onto The Nut-job Conspiracy Theory Ping List you must threaten to report me to the Mods if I dont add you to the list...
I think the board of directors of AP should look at the fact that a huge number of Americans do NOT TRUST the propaganda spewed forth by the current NON-GOVERNMENTAL outlets as they are today.
They apparently all are graduates and followers of the Joseph Goebbels School of Journalism. Positively NOT his Nazi philosophies to be sure, but his use journalism as a sharp edged tool of propaganda.
The governments work is already being done by, among many others, AP.
“AP saying that is the best laugh of the day.”
Simple posturing. It’s been weeks since the king signed into law that gives hime the right to take over, if you will, communications. Not a peep from the AP then. They knew about it all along.
Looks like AP lost the propaganda turf war.
And they were so good at it all these years. Well, at least they softened up the ground for the inevitable outcome. Too bad they got butt-hurt in the process, the fools.
I heard, but haven’t had a change to track down a suitable source, that the law forbidding the US government from using tax dollars to propagandize its own citizens has been repealed.
What could possibly go wrong?
?
Why is the date jan 1946?
AP: “The Obastard Government must not be allowed to run a news organization to shill for it. That’s OUR job.”
PBS NPR VOA ....
Because that’s when the article was written.
Thank you!
Ok
I am confused on why AP is now referring to it
maybe since it is AP I should not be confused
since I know they are 0dumbo’s schill
Because that’s when the press release was issued.
“that government can not engage in newscasting without creating the fear of propaganda which necessarily would reflect upon the objectivity of the news services from which such newscasts are prepared.”
What do you call PBS and NPR?
Just goes to show Democrats have been trying to take over the press for many decades now.
Even though the article is dated 1946, if the White House had it’s own news organization it wouldn’t look any different from the A.P., Washington Compost or New York Slimes.
All they do now is cut and paste daily muzings from the Press Secretary and claim it as theirs.
