McCain Back in Front As Republican Leader
The Ledger ^ | July 22, 2013 | Alex Leary

Posted on 07/22/2013 8:14:14 AM PDT by kevcol

WASHINGTON | As fellow Republicans slipped into a room in the Capitol for a private meeting, Arizona Sen. John McCain held court outside, surrounded by a flock of reporters.

” What about you, jerk?” he teased Kasie Hunt of NBC News, who gave it back: ” Do you take offense to the term ’Old Bull?’?”

McCain’s eyes lit up and he laughed.

” Is that Sen. McCain? Oooooh,” Sen. Charles Schumer, D-N.Y., who was passing by, whispered in faux awe.

The 76-year-old, twice-failed presidential candidate is back in front, reprising his role as a bipartisan dealmaker, occasional irritant to his own party and quote machine.

.
.
.
Facing a conservative challenge in his 2010 Senate re-election, McCain rushed to the right, changing his tone on immigration and global warming, only to veer back to where he sits today, reclaiming the sobriquet ” maverick.”

” I never liked that moniker,” McCain said. ” When I called for (Secretary of Defense Donald) Rumsfeld’s resignation and I disagreed with Bush and I voted against the tax cuts, then I was the maverick. And then after I lost to Obama, I was the angry, bitter old man. It’s interesting how all of a sudden John McCain’s personality changed so much.”

That one sentence reveals so much that is wrong.

The Communist media would like nothing more than to have McCain run again. Who better than him to continue the destruction of the Republican Party. McCain is about the only candidate that could make me not vote, or vote for a third party, and that is exactly why the media and the Democrats love him.

Keating Five.

Precisely.

I respect his service and his time as a POW, but I don’t respect him as a doctor, dentise, car repair man or senator.

Deciding to refer to the cow's tail as a leg, does NOT result in a 5 legged cow!

(apologies to Lincoln)

McCain is NOT a true “Republican” and capitulation is NOT leadership!!!!

who the hell is calling him “old bull”?

Is that the new term they are trying to impress him with?

I am reminded of the Shakespear line about telling the king that he is not one to be swayed by flattery, which both moves and flatters him...

OK As much as I detest McLame, I object to using the Keating scandal against him. He was railroaded on that one by a political appointee who refused to indict 4 Democrats alone and needed at least one Republican to add to the list.

Even the prosecution was finally forced to find McLame did nothing and should not be involved, but the democraps had done their damage

It should have tought him a lesson, though...

Which only goes to show how truly stupid most voters are.

Sorry. Not playing this time. The MSM and the elites do not get to tell me how I can vote for or even who can run. WE will decide that. No more rino’s, no more wannabe democrats, no more choice of the lesser of two evils..............

The smirk and the smile in the pic on these two peas in the pod say it all. McLame does odongo’s bidding...always has, always will.
IF he, in fact, it is the leader of the GOPe, then this country definitely needs a third party that’s savvy enough to pick up the Hispanic vote as well as all the conservative vote. This guy is a back-stabbing POS that just needs to go away.
