NEWT GINGRICH: This fits perfectly with what I was going to say earlier. You have a congressman -- and I respect Bobby Rush. You have a congressman who represents the most violent city in America. You have a congressman who represents the city in which over 500 people were killed last year, 74 percent of them African-American. You have a congressman who represents the city which is 80 percent of the killings, according to police, are by gangs. Gangs have increased -- let me finish. Gangs have increased by 40 percent since this president was elected. There is no federal program to stop it. No one wants to have an honest conversation about it. And so you have a congressman whose own district is bleeding, who puts on a hoodie as a symbolic act, but he doesn't do anything about the gangs in his own district.

Obama is an evil curse on America.
We will never see one single decent thing come from this demon.
I thought that's what obama's midnight basketball idea was for.
Bobby Rush:
Democratic Member of Congress
Member of the Progressive Caucus
In 1968, went AWOL from the U.S. Army
Co-founder of the Illinois branch of the Black Panther Party
In 1969, served six months in jail for an illegal weapons conviction
Advocates reparations for African Americans
and there’s much more...

Rush certainly has some nerve invoking the Bible. He quotes Micah 6:8 willy-nilly; but would Micah 6:12 perhaps hit a little close to home for him?
Newt states a few inconvenient facts and the liberal chickens start running around squawking. Still fun to see.
He’s right. We’re not allowed to have an honest conversation about the youth gangs who have laid waste to big portions of all of our major cities.
We’re not allowed to talk about ghetto culture, the gang culture, the baby mama culture, or any of the other social pathologies in the ghetto. Because, to do so would be racist. So, per politically correct theology, we just ignore said problems.
“we’re having this National Summit on Urban Violence. This was before the verdict we had planned this. The congressional black caucus is coming into Chicago so that we can work on solutions to this problem.”
A national summit? congressional black caucus?
Ah, yes — let’s do some talking. These people do not want to stop the gangs.
“I thought that’s what obama’s midnight basketball idea was for.”
It’s actually classified as a target program.
Night time basketball is pretty effective as a lure for the targets to congregate.
It is the horrible job market coupled with the inability of cities like Chicago to stop the illegal drug industry. It is something that makes one think that politicians are paid off by the drug cartel not to fix the problem.
Is it not obvious that the Democratic party creates the bulk of the problems for black Americans and then presents itself as the only viable solution to those problems? Republicans have very little input into the social, educational, and economic policies that govern the inner cities where we have the biggest problems. I think it's obvious what kind of game they're playing. It's the same game a drug dealer plays with his clients which is particularly fitting analogy actually.

WHY?
Is it not obvious that the Democratic party creates the bulk of the problems for black Americans and then presents itself as the only viable solution to those problems?

Bingo!
Good question.
Decorum?
Where do you think the stimulus money went?
“There is no federal program to stop it.”
Like hell there isn’t. It’s called RICO.
