On Sunday, Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) appeared on CNNs State of the Union, where he called President Obamas Friday comments on Trayvon Martin and race very impressive. He said, I think we should continue to make progress, but added that we still have a long way to go, even as he declined to second guess the verdict in the George Zimmerman case.
McCain stated that we were probably too optimistic about race relations in the aftermath of the election of the countrys first black president. I think old prejudices die hard, McCain said. We have made significant progress, but I think recent events highlight the differences that remain. McCain also said he believed that Stand Your Ground laws should be reconsidered in light of the Martin case, despite the fact that Stand Your Ground was never invoked by Zimmerman and he was acquitted on grounds of self-defense.

Someone should tell McCain - Racism is a “two-way” street!!!
It really is time to start calling McCain by the nickname, “Rocky.” That should apply for the rest of his life. This clown really is as dumb as a box of rocks.
Just saw a sign that is so true,”If you want to grow dope, plant a politician”.
McNut would fit there very well.
They would impress a mindless tool like McCain.
I understand your sentiment, but I don’t think you would have preferred Rodney Glassman as a senator, and that’s what you would have gotten had Hayworth actually beaten McCain. You might still get to see him in the Senate when McCain croaks if the Arizona Stupid Party can’t pull itself together. When you have these long-serving senators, the pipeline gets neglected and becomes pitiful. I think that’s where the AZ GOP is right now.
Newt Gingrich acted the same way toward Clinton as he too was taken in by syrupy speeches and a silver tongue. What a disappointment both men were/are to America.
Thanks for articulating my thoughts. I tend to think brevity can be more effective. Unfortunately I tend to take it to extremes :-)Are you available for meaningful notes to people I care about? j/k...
