Krauthammer on drones :

“I’m going to go hard left on you here, I’m going ACLU. I don’t want regulations, I don’t want restrictions, I want a ban on this. Drones are instruments of war. The Founders had a great aversion to any instruments of war, the use of the military inside even the United States. It didn’t like standing armies, it has all kinds of statutes of using the army in the country.

A drone is a high-tech version of an old army and a musket. It ought to be used in Somalia to hunt bad guys but not in America. I don’t want to see it hovering over anybody’s home. Yes, you can say we have satellites, we’ve got Google Street View and London has a camera on every street corner but that’s not an excuse to cave in on everything else and accept a society where you’re always under — being watched by the government. This is not what we want.

I would say that you ban it under all circumstances and I would predict, I’m not encouraging, but I an predicting that the first guy who uses a Second Amendment weapon to bring a drone down that’s been hovering over his house is going to be a folk hero in this country.”

Just a wild guess here, but I predict the first CONUS civilian use of a drone in an aggressive manner will be to shoot a homeowner’s dog.

Soon thereafter, the drone will release a statement through the controlling agency public information officer, “I was afraid for my life.”

No guns?

Fine. We'll use lasers and EMP devices.

The administration reminded the public that it regulates the nation’s airspace, including the airspace over cities and towns.

Then they regulate the airspace over my house? And I can have no presumption of privacy?

We’re a half a step away from a “pre-crime” police state.

And, yes, your dogs are monitored through meta-data.

Obama and Holder promise only to use them
to murder dissidents against their treason.

Anything under “navigable airspace” belongs to the property owner, except where ceeded or needed for safe landing and takeoff.

Sorry FAA, but if a drone is under 500 feet, it is fair game.

I m warning the United States Government against firing a gun from a drone at Americans!

I can’t think of a quicker way to start a civil war in this great Nation than for the government to shoot and kill an American in his or her house on his or her private land by an over zealous “racist” Attorney General!! The government won’t have enough man power, resources, or strategic for knowledge to prevent what would happen all across this Country, in every Town, Village, dirt road, behind every rock, tree, hillside, highway sign, culvert. This socialist administration has no idea the shit storm that would erupt!

With the photographic capabilities of drones I don’t see them flying low enough for most of us to have a weapon capable of bringing one down.

Having said that I am all in favor of shooting them down if they are used against Americans in our country.

It
s bad enough they listen in on my telephone and watch what I buy in the store with their computers, I don’t need them watching me take a leak in my back yard.

You know, we do have a Congress. It could outlaw this. It could also vote the WOT over, whether as victory or defeat, and if the terrorists keep popping up in certain ME countries, the FBI can demand their host country turn them over. If not Congress can vote for a declaration of war on that hostile nation.

As an aside, last month Congress voted to end the war in Afghanistan on Dec 31 2014.

Does anyone know of a site with photos of all of the different styles of drones currently known to be used by the government? I highly doubt they are sending up the typical military-style Predator for domestic use. Too high profile.

I saw a flying wing style small plane/drone (the size/scale was very hard to tell) with front twin props fly very low over my property recently but I kind of live on the approach to the local airport.

“The FAA warns...” Just who are these anonymous nazi bureaucraps who issue this crap? I’d like to know their names, e-mail addresses and so forth. Justice WILL prevail in the United States.

If were talking about low altitude, a balloon on a nylon string will bring them down...

Well, if a shooter here grabs a bazooky from his garage and shoots down a drone, I hope it crashes into his bedroom, not mine.

Deer Trail is sufficiently open space that there exists air that the FAA does not control. Shoot em down and let the feds try to justify why they were there. I would feel threatened by unknown aircraft overhead.....fire at will boys.

Not below specific altitudes except in approach and take-off corridors. IOW they do NOT control the air space five feet over my roof top. GTH FAA!

If and/or when somebody does shoot down a drone, how will the Feds know where the bullet came from? It’ll be miles away by the time it hits the ground. People in Afghanistan and Pakistan have brought down quite a few of them , using only bullets, much to the embarrassment of the Obama Administration. And if somebody in America helps a drone fall out of the sky, and the Gestapo comes around to investigate, I’m pretty sure all the gun-totin’ good ol’ boys in the area didn’t see or hear a thing.

Do NOT shoot guns at drones; use guided missiles instead, dang it! One shot, one kill.

Now, if only Walmart stocked FIM-92A Stinger missiles . . . sigh.
