WASHINGTON—
President Barack Obama said on Friday that the death of Trayvon Martin, an unarmed black teenager shot dead in Florida last year, has raised questions about why young African-Americans experience racial profiling.
"You know, when Trayvon Martin was first shot, I said that this could have been my son. Another way of saying that is Trayvon Martin could have been me, 35 years ago," Obama told reporters at the White House, in his first public remarks after the acquittal by a Florida court of Martin's shooter, George Zimmerman.
and racial profiling, and sought to explain why the African American community was outraged over the case.
"There are very few African American men in this country who haven’t had the experience of being followed when they were shopping in a department store. That includes me," Obama said. "And there are very few African American men who haven't had the experience of walking across the street and hearing the locks click on the doors of cars. That happens to me, at least before I was a senator."
African Americans see the country’s history of violence and discrimination against blacks as being ignored, he said, "and that all contributes, I think, to a sense that if a white male teen was involved in the same kind of scenario, that, from top to bottom, both the outcome and the aftermath might have been different."

This comment was a GIGANTIC mistake.
For any President, let alone the petulant Obama, to align himself with a court case — especially AFTER a jury has decided it — not only demeans the presidency, it reinforces the idea that this is a single-issue guy, and that issue is race. Not smart “optics”.

Martin was a criminal. He was protected from more than one criminal charge by a crooked chief of school district police that ordered the hiding of crimes by juveniles. This jerk was actually “decorated” for “lowering the incidents of juvenile crime”. Martin was a drug user and dealer and was dealing to other students. He was also selling stolen property including jewelry. If he had been in juvenile hall where he should have been, he would not have gotten shot. Martin has posted pictures which boast of gang attachments.
He was not walking through that community because he was taking a “short cut”. He was looking for more stuff to steal in a community that had already been heavily victimized. The hood was to disguise his face. It was raining. You do not wear a sopping wet cotton hoody for very long for any legitimate purpose.
Zimmerman was walking back to his vehicle when Martin came up from behind. And Martin was supposedly “frightened”? I am sure he was hoping to sucker punch Zimmerman while his back was turned.
Martin saw the gun and tried to get it...........and he got shot.
In last known pictures, Martin is taller than all the adults around him.
These two parents are washouts. So neither divorced mom nor dad could take care of Martin or his younger sibling?!?!? They were parked at the dad’s “fiance’s house” !?!?!?!?
There have been quite a few shootings of white people by black people since the incident with Martin. And these shootings were murder from the start. Gee, where is the outrage?!?!?
There have been MANY, MANY, MANY shootings, stabbings, and beatings of Black people by Black people since the Martin incident. Ninety seven percent of Black victims are caused by Black criminals. Gee, where is the outrage?!?!?!?
In Victorville yesterday, we had “protests” that involved jumping on cars and stomping out windows. Both my son and daughter in law were called on duty. 17 arrests.
The LAPD guys I know are absolutely ticked at their supervisors for letting things go too long. In once case, an Lt. in command proved he was an absolute political gumbie coward.
Of course, that is exactly why the Rodney King riots took off from a specific corner in LA. One yellow Lt. in so called “command”. Every guy I know on LAPD is talking about transferring to other departments, and all of them Sheriff’s Dept’s. Oh, except LASO. Two have already put their papers in.
I have been incredibly busy teaching cops and more and more citizens for the past 3 years. And now it is even picking up more.
The real bottom line is this country is going to be the United States of Shanty Town Detroit and will be in total civil unrest if we let this piece of garbage stay in office.
By the way. If you are not a fed and are a peace officer or are retired, this government is afraid of you. If you are, or have been a peace officer AND in the military, they are terrified of you. My son has worked on cross sworn teams with the US marshalls and the FBI. He has found two US marshalls in the last three years that he “thinks” he can trust. One guy I know who was workig for DHS quit after four years and went to work for a state LE agency. He said he was sick and tired of the immense corruption in the DHS.
Really, so tell us then, who did you commit felony assault against 20 years ago??? Inquiring minds want to know.
If you are not a member of a protected class established by this administration, you could be George Zimmerman, and be railroaded by the current mob-justice system.
First of all, Mr. Obama is half-white. Second, at Trayvon’s age, he was living with his white grandparents. In fact, he was raised entirely by white people and never grew up in a black household. At Trayvon’s age, Obama was attending an exclusive prep school. IIRC, he was the only black (or half-black) student. The notion that he was walking around in a hoodie sharing in Trayvon-like experiences is a total joke. Just like most of what he says.

Being from the suburbs of Pittsburgh I would say you were very wise to lock your car door. I once got lost driving in an all black neighborhood and it was a very frightening experience. The hatred blacks have towards whites is palpable. You couldn’t pay me to go into that crime infested city unless I was very well armed.

It won't make a bit of difference. They knew he was a communist agitator communiteh organizer when he was running for president. Look at what happened in his native country of Kenya after his cuz Raila Odinga lost in 2007.
