The Colorado Democratic legislator who once suggested “ballpoint pens” were reasonable alternatives to handguns for self-defense wrote on Facebook that “cold fingers of fear grasped at my throat” in the wake of the George Zimmerman trial when his 15-year-old son asked if it was OK to play cops-and-robbers outside with toy Nerf guns.
“With a dry mouth and wet eyes, I angrily told him that he could not go outside and play a simple childhood game,” state Rep. Jessie Ulibarri wrote in a message he later promoted on the liberal blog ColoradoPols.
Ulibarri, who is Hispanic, was afraid his son would be profiled because of his dark skin.

Ulibarri told the Colorado Senate Judiciary Committee that there are alternatives to guns for self-defense, like ballpoint pens. As Ulibarri pointed out, when the gunman stops to reload (if you haven’t been shot already) it is the perfect time to attack your assailant with your pen.[LINK]

My guess is that he is involved with a white liberal of either sex and this pansy politics is his way of submission.
I sometimes wonder who are the more afraid of? Us, the citizens of the country? Or are they more afraid of themselves and what they would do in similar circumstances and having decided that to prevent their own selves from doing something, they needed to prevent all of us from doing it too.
And if that is true, then somebody really needs to learn some self-control. And that somebody ISN’T the legal gun owners of America for the most part.

I was thinking the same thing. When I was 15 I was shooting real guns (safely and well, I might add) and not asking anyone's leave before doing so. But I liven in America back then. I guess in this new Nerf country we live in now things are different.
