The nation's top military officer tells a Senate committee the Obama administration is deliberating whether to use military power in Syria, where a civil war entering its third year has killed almost 93,000 people.

Army Gen. Martin Dempsey says during congressional testimony Thursday that he has provided President Barack Obama with options for the use of force in Syria.

Let them kill each other. I’m so sick of this “give war a chance” bullshit. Those savages aren’t worth one drop of the blood from our people in uniform.

We already tried nation building in that hell hole of a region. Enough is enough.

Its about time people cleaned up their own back yards.

In a sane world we would butt out. Naturally, Obama will choose to do the opposite.

After the bitch slapping the Egyptian people and military just gave him a sane person would hesitate to go to bat again for the Muslim Brotherhood and Al Qaeda, this time in a direct conflict of interest with Russia.

Obama will stand along side McCain and Graham as political cover and announce that regrettably, with “bipartisan support” the US is engaging in Syria.

The corrupt MSM will collectively yawn after they put up mild criticism, and the anti-war left that goes apoplectic with any Republican, will simply purr like an aroused kitten.

Will he bother to get permission from Congress?

Around the globe Obama’s foreign policies and warmongering has been especially hard on Christians facing persecution, especially at the hands of Muslims.

I think this is also the single worst failure of the compassionate Bush administration that we did not as a nation address the plight of Christians around the world who are being killed, tortured, kidnapped, have their families torn apart, possessions stolen and robbed of basic human rights. Our own initiatives against the axis of evil made things worse.

Right now, Christians in Iraq, Egypt, Syria and elsewhere are much worse off due to our intervention.

And we continue to give carte blanche trade privileges to nations with terrible human rights abuses including China and Saudi Arabia.

I guess CONgress is going to once again abdicate its Constitutional duty to decided if the United States goes to War or not.

There’s a snake and a rat fighting in my back yard. I go into my garage, get my garden hoe, wait for one to kill the other, then take out the survivor.

Certainly so, since they’re both the wrong side. We don’t have a dog in that fight.

Since even Obama doesn't want American "boots on the ground" with the accompanying flag-draped coffins, this probably means a massive launch of cruise missiles and/or air power.

What will be the result? BOTH sides will show Pallywood/Damascuswood photos of dead children from some conflict, and the US will be blamed. Another round of deadly protests in the Arab world.

Waging war in Syria would be an act of treason given who the “good guys” supposedly are.

Problem is, the US government figured Assad would fall quickly back in 2011 and now (with Assad winning) faces the prospect of “losing face” should the regime endure.

That’s why a lot of people die in war: because the elites don’t like to feel embarrassed, which they sell to the public as “national interests are at stake.”

Truth is, the west has NOTHING to gain and plenty to lose from blundering into Syria.

Beyond preposterous.

There is nothing good that can come of this. Why are we even interested?

Which side?

Whichever the side is whose victory will be worse for this country.

The rebels.

Why does our government always display a compulsion to get involved in that hellhole part of the world? As long as the oil is flowing, and their not attacking us, stay the F out of it!

To O and his admin that is just a side benefit, maybe even the primary actual benefit.
