Trayvon Martins friend and witness for the prosecution in the George Zimmerman trial Rachel Jeantel got an opportunity to respond directly to Rush Limbaugh during an extended interview with Marc Lamont Hill Live Wednesday morning. Despite Limbaughs insistence that he now his Jeantels permission to say nigga with an a, Jeantel said the conservative radio hosts comments did feel racist to her.
In her first major interview since the Zimmerman trial ended, Jeantel explained to Piers Morgan Monday night the difference between nigger with an -er, which she said is a racist word and nigga with an a, which she said in her generation means just means any male. Tuesday, Limbaugh used Jeantels explanation as an excuse to use the non-racist version of the word on his radio show, saying, I think can [say it] now, isnt that the point? Because its not racist.
HuffPost Lives Hill played the Limbaugh clip for Jeantel and asked her to respond. When he first asked her if she knew who Limbaugh is, Jeantel replied, No, whos that? After listening to the clip, she said, When you say it out loud in person in front of people, thats disrespectful, she said, adding, It is racist for an adult.
Hill attempted to get some clarification from Jeantel, asking, Does it matter whether the adult is black or white?
Yes! Jeantel replied, with little hesitation.
When you heard Rush Limbaugh say it just then, did it feel racist to you? Hill asked.
Well, yes, Jeantel said. But I cant judge him.
It felt racist to me too, Hill responded.
As if this woman even knows who Rush Limbaugh is.
It’s funny how these made up words have meanings that shift upon the whim of the idiot who is defining and then redefining them. If Lewis Carroll were alive, he could write another book.
Hill was made a professor at Ivy League Columbia. His specialty is hip hop. These people are truly disgusting.
If you find yourself caring what Jeantel thinks on any subject, I can guarantee you are an idiot.
What a shock, it doesn’t sound racist to them when they are racists.
Well, honey, as long as it FEELS racist to you, let’s you be the judge of his thoughts, ok? But then I guess we get to judge yours?? So I’m saying I FEEL OFFENDED that you said ‘cracker ‘ass’ whitey’ or whatever it was, and that YOU think YOU get to say it. ‘Cuz I FEEEEEEL it was racist. So in fact I’m suing you for hurting my feelings. And I actually think ‘jive ass turkey’ is ok, too.
Here in Georgia they have the HOPE scholarship. Over time, money got tight, as more and more kids qualified for it. Well, over that same time they saw kids doing exactly what you say, entering college and having to take remedial everything.
Found out, although nothing has ever been done about it, that the teachers were just giving these kids the appropriate grades so they could qualify. Didn’t matter if they could read, write or do algebra.
The only things Jeantel thinks about are her hair and her next meal
We’re watching the evolution of a word in hyper-speed. Racial Jenteal also claimed she cannot be racist herself because her grandmother is white. So at least Racial Jenteal agrees Zimmerman isn’t the racist TM’s attorneys were portraying.
I’ll bet she will cancel her subscriptions to Rush 24/7 and his newsletter and probably stop ordering from Two If By Tea.
Why? She's black? I thought she was Troll-American.
Is that Cracka or Cracker?
‘Its frightening that in the meantime SHE CAN VOTE!’ Probably more than once.
Do they have a copy of the Rule Book on Amazon?
Never try to teach a pig (and I *DO* mean pig) to sing.
It frstrates you and irritates the pig.
(Somebody famous said that. He used a pen name and is now a racist although he never was one when he was alive.)
The media is finding much wisdom and intelligence in Jeantel, if she were a white southern male sounding this incredibly stupid and racist, I cringe to think of the way the media would be describing him and his state, his race, and region of birth.
go figgah
It is sort of cool that she is stealing the limelight and publicity away from Trayvon’s parents and their money grab.
Now it’s all about Jeantel. She’s becoming the new voice of Black America.
