CHICAGO (CBS) – A sign posted outside a south suburban church is generating a powerful debate over race in the wake of the George Zimmerman verdict.
The marquee outside the First Baptist Church of University Park earlier this week read: “It Is Safe To Kill Black People In Amerikkka.”
On Saturday, a jury of six women in Florida acquitted Zimmerman in the shooting death of Trayvon Martin.
Several comments on the church’s Facebook page took issue with the reference to the Ku Klux Klan in the word Amerikkka, with many saying the church’s sign is hateful and divisive and implies that all white Americans are racist
The church responded by saying: “The message on the sign is not a message of hate. It is a message of awakening and call to action. It is a message not intended to divide, but to cause honest reflection in order to make this country a better place for ALL.”

Uh, except that the people who wrote the marquee are the ones that need to wake up and to reflect honestly. How is putting this on a sign going to help them do that?

So... blacks ARE allowed to pummel anyone they don’t like looking at them. That’s fine.

I think that’s what some are most upset about -
it’s culturally acceptable to them to be violent to someone over an act of perceived “disrespect”.
And we’re “violating” that cultural right by holding them to a “white” standard.
Someone needs to spraypaint a bright red “Z” on the top of the sign.
Actually it seems it is OK to kill Black people, but ONLY if you are Black also. At least that is what the media and Black leaders are teaching us.
Maybe it’s just like using the “N” word...
“Killing black people is a black thing. We can do it. You can’t.”
The father of lies a murderer fromt he start is more brilliant than people can even imagine. His influence can generate some of the most brilliant twisiting of truth and never be identified as the source of the evil. But at least we have many of the enemies of We The People (of all races and ethnic groups) self identifying so they can be excluded from the rebuilding process.
To call these places “Churches” is a joke!...Unless your religion is a religion of hate!
Those electronic sign parts are expensive.
Just the L.E.D. Display boards on each side will cost 7-10K to replace.
