Stevie Wonder Boycotting Florida Following Zimmerman Verdict (Video)
Hollywood Reporter ^ | 07/16/13

Posted on 07/16/2013 6:04:47 AM PDT by BunnySlippers

In the wake of the George Zimmerman acquittal, the singer said he would not be performing in the Sunshine State until its Stand Your Ground law is "abolished." He also said he would not be performing in any other state that recognizes the law, which some say contributed to Zimmerman's acquittal in the shooting death of Florida teen Trayvon Martin on Feb. 26, 2012.

This did not go well for the race baiting gun control gangbangers and to add insult to injury Zimmerman gets his gun back —

How good it is.

Good idea.

Maybe he can convince the Yoots and Thug element in Florida to punish the state by moving to Chicago.

No one will miss him. He might as well keep playing in night clubs in Vegas.

Hey Stevie, maybe if we inapt strong enough gun laws, Florida can be a safe place like Chicago and DC.

Is Stevie DEAF too?

Stand Your Ground was NOT involved in the Zimmerman case - PERIOD!

Does Stevie believe that once a “creepy azz cracka” is getting his ass attacked and kicked by a wannabe gangsta, it is incumbent of the cracka to take that beating while hoping he doesn’t die from the incident?

Stevie Wonder, although a great musician with a legacy of hit songs that became part of the national culture some 40 years ago, is long past his pop music prime at age 63, although I'm sure he can still draw an audience. His announcement that he won't play dates in Florida until they cancel the 'stand your ground' law will hardly make a ripple in Florida's economy or affect it's residents in any way that you can notice.

Like most of what the left does, this is another symbolic gesture that costs Stevie little or nothing (Stevie's net worth is 110 million dollars and he owns a number of lavish homes on both coasts) but is catnip to the left and passes for 'bravery'. That the Zimmerman verdict was based on factual evidence (with every advantage given to the state prosecutor) is dismissed and the 'not guilty' verdict characterized as somehow 'proving' that white racism runs rampant throughout America. The left's very deliberate dividing of the races is working well and Stevie Wonder is buying right into it.

As a non-guilt-ridden white man, I'm getting fed up with the endless, escalating black racism that ignores black-on-black crime (90% of black murder victims are killed by other blacks) and uses this obvious self-defense situation (Zimmerman-Martin) as a club to beat American society and howl about 'justice'. One wonders if whites would be as vociferous about 'justice' had Martin managed to kill Zimmerman, instead, on that fateful February night in Sanford, Florida.

Granted, there is a history of injustice against blacks in America but that was decades ago and has no relation to today and the Zimmerman case. This chest-beating false 'outrage' against our justice system and the alleged-but-invisible white racism in America, exacerbated by black race hustlers like Jackson, Sharpton and the likes of the 'Reverend' Jeremiah Wright, screaming invectives about anti-black 'racism' as the complicit media acts as their bullhorn and stenographer is poisoning our culture, wiping out the many gains in white-black race relations made over the past half century and serves no one but leftist America-haters determined to divide America into warring factions of 'rich' and 'poor', black and white, etc to better destroy us as a cohesive, powerful nation - and I'm sick of it.

America is one of the very few places on earth where a blind black man like Stevie Wonder was able to use his musical talent to become fabulously wealthy and adored by millions. Yet today, in his sixties, fat and comfortable, likely surrounded by armed 'security', Stevie bleats about the just Zimmerman verdict and 'boycotts' Florida. That is his right as an American citizen but it's my right to criticize him for his ignorance and shallow 'protest' against a perfectly reasonable Florida law that allows a person being attacked by another to use whatever force necessary to protect themselves, including a gun. It is a law based on simple common sense, something that apparently eludes Stevie Wonder.

The only places he could play in Florida are the Seminole reservations.......so he’s basically punishing Native Americans.

According to this source:

http://www.motherjones.com/mojo/2012/03/nra-trayvon-martin

there are a total of 25 states with some form of “Stand your ground” law.

So does this mean that Little Stevie Wonder, whose last USA top 40 hit record was in 1987, is going to play no concerts in Detroit? Chicago? Las Vegas? Phoenix? Dallas? Houston? Atlanta? ANY of the deep south except Arkansas?

If he wants to eliminate any performances in those massive markets, well that is of course his choice. But I don’ think he’s fully considered the amount of income he’s forfeiting, especially for someone who hasn’t had a hit in tbis country in 25 years.

This will be interesting to watch.
